On ff. 15a-16a is a transcript of 'Ymddiddan Arthur a'r Eryr'. Six of the seven unnumbered folios at the beginning contain a list of contents by, and in the autograph of Lewis Morris, who has also supplied or augmented the titles of some of the poems and added copious marginal notes to explain the text and correct some errors of transcription. Sections both at the beginning and at the end of the volume were lost before it was bound in its present form. The volume also includes translation into English, made by J. K[yrle] F[letcher] of the list of contents compiled by Lewis Morris. The original pagination indicates that 48 folios are wanting at the beginning. The revised pagination is in the autograph of Lewis Morris. Most of the folios were at one time mutilated at the edges, but many have been repaired and the missing text supplied by Lewis Morris. This volume was formerly in the possession of Sir Bernard Bosanquet, Justice of the Common Pleas (died 1848), and was one of sixteen Welsh manuscripts from the Dingestow Court Library offered for sale by Messrs Sotheby in July 1916. It was purchased by J. Kyrle Fletcher, Newport, on behalf of Albert Addams-Williams, Llangibby Castle. Inserted in the volume are a short description of the Welsh manuscripts at Dingestow Court, in the form of a cutting from Messrs Sotheby's sale catalogue and a letter, 18 July 1916, from J. Kyrle Fletcher to Captain Albert [Addams]-Williams, giving an account of the sale. It appears from this letter and from the notes he has written in the margin of the cutting that Mr Kyrle Fletcher was under the mistaken impression that this volume was in the autograph of Llywelyn Sion of Llangewydd. Paper 7 un-numbered folios, ff.1-177; 191x128; full Russia with blind tooling, damaged at the spine.

The substance of this tract was subsequently incorporated in Vaughan's British Antiquities Revived (Oxford, 1662). The volume contains both the arguments and answers set forth by Vaughan and therefore differs considerably from Peniarth MS 277 which contains only the arguments.
Pasted inside the front cover is a short description of the volume in the form of a cutting from Messrs. Sotheby, Wilkinson and Hodge’s Sale Catalogue of the Mostyn Library (1919), p. 22.

It appears to be copied from a transcript, made on 18 Oct. 1706, of a manuscript which in 1700 belonged to Humphrey Humphreys, bishop of Bangor.[? Wynnstay MS]. NLW MS 27 is a transcript of the same original. The History is followed by transcripts of a land tax assessment for co. Denbigh at 2s. 4d. per £,.n.d.; resolutions of the Commissioners for co. Edwardi Warreni de Wormington in Comit Gloucestrio Anno Doni 1664 Anno Etatis 23'. A short description of the volume, in the form of a cutting from a sale catalogue, is loosely inserted. According to this description, the author appears to have been a Puritan of the Cromwellian period. A note, however, in the margin of this cutting [by Albert Addams-Williams] refutes this suggestion on the ground that the volume contains a sermon based on the martyrdom of Charles I. Paper; 252 pp., unnumbered; 142 x 89;; tooled calf.

Sermon notes,

A volume of sermons and sermon notes. Some of these were delivered at Preston, Kingswood, and Lapw[orth] between 1662 and 1665. A note in pencil on the fly-leaf states that the volume is in the autograph of the Reverend Matthew Henry. Howeer, a short description of the volume by 'D.R.T.' in the form of a newspaper cutting pasted on the inside of the front cover states that, in view of the dates of some of the sermons, the volume must be in the autograph, not of Matthew, but of his father, Philip Henry, the eminent Nonconformist divine.
