A composite manuscript by, and in the autograph of, Richard Robert Jones (Dic Aberdaron) containing: (1) a composite memoir of Dic Aberdaron; (2) a metaphrasis of Psalm 58 to be sung with harp accompaniment in Welsh with an English translation; (3) a transcript of the Hebrew text of the Song of Songs of Shelomah, together with an interlinear translation into English and a transcript of the preface of Rashi; (4) two copies of the arrangement of the 'cithara' in Greek according to the ancients, together with an illustration; (5) transcripts and translations into English of odes by Anacreon 'To a silver cup' (Teubner text, No. IV), 'To the same' (Ibid V), 'To a maiden' (ibid XXII), 'To a portrait painter'(Ibid XVI), 'To his own loves' and 'To a disc' (ibid LVII) and of an ode by Sappho 'To a loved woman'; (6) the names of the days of the week in English, Greek and Hebrew; (7) a transcript of 'The Sabbath day', published by the Religious Tract Society (No. 2), together with a Welsh translation made on 24 August 1840; (8) transcripts and interlinear translations into English of miscellaneous passages from Homer; (9) transcripts and interlinear translations of odes by Anacreon 'To a Harp' (Teubner text No. XXIII) and 'To Love' (ibid XXXIII). Inserted is a letter, dated 13 February [19]11, from J. Kyrle Fletcher, 82 High Street, Newport, to A. Addams-Williams [at Llangibby Castle] relating to this volume. Paper; ff. 42 unnumbered, 1-18, and 18 unnumbered; 213 x 127; half green morocco with blind and gilt tooling.
