Glynne of Hawarden family papers and documents

Papers of the Glynne family of Hawarden Castle, Flintshire, 17-19 cent., and records of the estate, 1304-1880. Arranged into manuscript volumes, 1686-1874, autograph letters, 1529-1899, deeds and documents, 1304-1880, manuscript estate maps and plans, 1734-1781, and printed matter, 1658-1884. Other (non-Gogerddan) estate papers and title deeds

This section contains deeds and documents relating to miscellaneous other estates and places, found with the Gogerddan estate records. The reasons for their presence here can be readily identified in some cases, while others cannot be determined with any certainty. The Cardiganshire section includes the intended purchase by Edward Loveden Loveden of the Peterwell estate near Lampeter, 1607, 1748-1811, and papers relating to Nanteos, 1695-1812. The other sections comprise deeds and documents relating to various Welsh counties, notably Carmarthenshire and Merioneth, 1562-(Watermark 1887); miscellaneous counties in England, 1600-1845; and Montserrat, West Indies, 1695-1698.

Hawarden deeds

Arranged in chronological order, [pre-1300]-1889 (Hawarden Deeds 1-1915). Four additional items, 1585-1739 (nos 1916-1919), have been inserted into their chronological positions.

John Roberts, Glyn Neath, sermons

Thirty volumes of sermon (and a few lecture) notes in Welsh by [John Roberts, Baptist minister, Glynneath] (d. 1890). They were written and/or delivered, during the period 1874-1890, with the exception of the first volume which contains sermons written by him as vicar of Ystradgynlais, 1851, and preached during the period 1851-1873. Formerly D. Pryse Williams 253-279.

Manuscripts, 1785-1891, of the Bonsall family, comprising legal precedents, [19 cent., first ½], mainly of North Wales interest, used by Hugh Davies and John George William Bonsall, solicitors, Machynlleth; a memorandum book, 1785-1787; and a rental of estates in Mongomeryshire and Cardiganshire, 1873-1891.
