One hundred and twenty-four autograph letters, 1959-1974, from painter-poet David ('Dafydd') Jones, all addressed to Valerie ('Elri') Wynne-Williams (née Price), with the exception of two to her husband Michael ('Mihangel') (ff. 54, 112-113) and one to them both (ff. 55-56), discussing a variety of topics including his, and her, health and living conditions, his work, his friends, the Welsh language and Welsh history and politics. Prison letters,

Twenty-eight letters, 1937, from Saunders Lewis at Wormwood Scrubs Prison, London, to his wife, Margaret, his daughter, Mair and his aunt, Ellen Thomas, some being transcripts, containing news of life in prison where he, D. J. Williams, Fishguard, and the Reverend Lewis Valentine were serving nine months for their part in the burning of the Penyberth Bombing School.

Ninety-four letters, 1919-1984, in Welsh and English, to Saunders Lewis from various correspondents, together with a few draft letters from Saunders Lewis and four letters to Margaret Lewis, written during her husband's imprisonment in 1937. Subjects discussed include Welsh nationalism, the award of DLitt honoris causa to Saunders Lewis, the Welsh Burial Grounds issue, 1928, and literary topics; enclosures include a copy of a draft constitution and articles of agreement, 1934, relating to self-government for Wales (ff. 161-95).
