Six files of approximately 900 letters from Sir Oliver Lodge or his secretary to Ben Davies with a number of copy replies concerning Sir Oliver's famous ether experiments, and experiments on electro-magnetic waves, photo-electricity, magnetic telegraph, etc. [cf. Sir Oliver Lodge, Past Years : An Autobiography (1931), Chaps. xiv-xvii]. Other subjects discussed include seances, spiritualism, publications and Russia. Xerox copies of 10 letters from Ben Davies to Sir Oliver Lodge reporting the result of experiments with the ether machine, 1893-1896, and upon the discharge of electricity from various metals, [1894 x 1897].
