Scope and content

The file comprises page proofs of Parts V-VIII, which were originally stapled together, but found loose and scattered, with page 168 wanting. It has been stamped for return to the printers and marked 'Authors final' with the date 18 April 1952 on page 122. It has been corrected and revised by David Jones in pencil and red ink, marked by blue strokes, perhaps David Jones' mark of a transfer of the corrections to the set of page proofs returned to the printer, or of his seeing the corrections made in the revise. All alterations made in the revise seem to be marked in P6. There are comments by the 'Faber hand' throughout (as in P3) with replies by David Jones e.g. page 131.
