Abstracts of Cwrtmawr deeds,

A volume lettered 'Index to Deeds' containing chronological abstracts by J. H. Davies of selected deeds and documents, 1573-1778, in the Cwrtmawr library (see the typewritten schedule of Cwrtmawr Deeds in the National Library of Wales).

Llyfrgell 'Gwilym Cowlyd',

A notebook in the hand of J. H. Davies containing a chronological list of printed books in Welsh and of Welsh interest, 1599-1886 and undated, being the first lot purchased by him from William John Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') 'a day or two' before the latter's sale [in April 1897]. At the end of the volume, partly in the hand of J. H. Davies, are particulars of gaps in files of newspapers, periodicals, etc. (Y Goleuad, Trysorfa y Plant, Welsh Gazette, and Welsh Piety) in the Cwrtmawr library.

Davies containing lists of works by William Williams, Pantycelyn, Rees Prichard, John Bunyan (translations into Welsh), Thomas Edwards ('o'r Nant') and Thomas Jones, Denbigh, and of Welsh periodicals and almanacs [in the Cwrtmawr library]. The volume was originally used to record, in another hand, a 'Catalogue of Pamphlets', 1789-1891 and undated [also in the Cwrtmawr library].
