Pedigree of the [?Morris] family of Treborth Uchaf down to the year 1712.

Manuscripts of, or collected by, John Edwards Griffith, [c. 1715]-1929, including pedigrees, memoranda and genealogical notes relating mainly to Anglesey and Caernarvonshire; a volume of pedigrees by John Ellis, Tai Croesion, 1723; manuscripts of William Williams, Llandygái; and some 350 letters, [c. 1892]-1929, to J. E. Griffith relating to botany and genealogy and to his publications.

A volume labelled on the spine 'Pedigrees by John Ellis, Tai Croesion. MS 1723' consisting of an earlier volume of pedigrees (pp. 9-89, 100-200) by and in the autograph of John Ellis, Taicroesion, [Llechyllched, Angelsey], interleaved with pedigrees in the autograph of J. E. Griffith (1843-1933), genealogist, with an index by him (8 ff.). There are numerous additions to the John Ellis pedigrees, some made in the eighteenth century, others made by J. E. Griffith. The John Ellis portion of the manuscript also contains some poetry, including 'Cowydd Trafferth y Byd ar Gyfraith' ('Anafus worth iawn ofyn...') by Tho. Prys (p. [156]), triads ('Dymma Drioedd Taliessin') (p. [159]), descriptions of arms, etc. There is also a note concerning windows in Clynnog church (p. [34]): this is referred to in An Inventory of the Ancient Monuments in Caernarvonshire, Vol. II, Central.

A volume of accounts, memoranda, etc., 1764-1794, in the autograph of the Rev. Owen Jones (d. [at Beaumaris] 18 January 1795), rector of Newborough, 1747-1793, and Llaneilian, Anglesey, 1793-1795, with some additional entries to 1817 by his daughter, Catherine Jones [Brondeg, Beaumaris]. Also in the volume is a calendar of events, family and otherwise, 1751-1796, and a copy of the petition of William Jones, late of Hengai in the parish of Llangeinwen, Anglesey, labourer, confined in Beaumaris Gaol, 30 April 1766, to the Commissioners of HM Customs in London. Loose papers include two leaves probably from an earlier account- book, 1755-1756.

A manuscript volume lettered on the spine 'Cullen's Lectures. 2' containing Lectures XXX-LXXIII on physiology by [William Cullen, MD (1710- 90)], 1772-1773. The lecturer appears to be commenting on paragraphs in a printed work of his own composition. The number '2' has been pasted on to the volume.

A volume of notes on Anglesey in the hand of William Williams, Llandygai, most of which are crossed out, consisting of a list of historical events (ff. 1-5), followed by the notes on Anglesey (ff. 6-39v) and 'Kadeir Kerridwen' (f. 40).

'Some Account of the Welsh Poems addressed to the Family of Penrhyn', being an English précis of Welsh strict-metre poems. Endorsed by William Williams 'Some Specimen of Welsh poetry translated by the Revd Mr Davies'.

A volume containing 'Ymarferion Dwywol y Galon. A ysgrifenwyd gan y Ferch glodfawr honno Mrs Elizabeth Rowe. Wedi eu cymreigio gan W. Williams Llandegai yn Swydd Arfon, 1805', being a holograph Welsh translation by William Williams, Llandygai, of Elizabeth Rowe, Devout Exercises of the Heart... (1737). The translator's address to the reader is dated 'Llandegai Mehefin 24" 1805'. The translation does not appear to have been published.

A volume marked in pencil 'No. 2. 1807' containing Llysieuaeth Cymreig; 'sef enwau Blagur o bob rhyw...' by [Hugh Davies], being a list similar to that printed in his Welsh Botanology (1813), pp. 153-247.
The following note has been pasted inside the cover: 'Mem.dum Febry 24th 1807 9pm - I have just now finished collating this No. 2 with No. 1, & I think I may pronounce them both in perfect concord with each other. H. D.'. The catalogue is written on the recto of each folio, with some notes in pencil facing. There are also some loose notes, one written on the back of a letter from J. G., Llanfair. The original manuscript of 'Letters from North Wales, Written by Catherine Hutton To Thomas Hutton, her Brother, from 1796 to 1800, And printed in the Monthly Magazine by Sir Richard Phillips 1816'. The title- page is signed 'Catherine Hutton, Jan. 4th. 1842' and the writer may have intended to publish the letters in book form.
Loose in the volume are the following items: an appreciation of 'The Late Miss Hutton. From the Birmingham Journal of March 21, 1846'; the words of a song; and reviews of three printed works by Catherine Hutton, viz. Oakwood Hall, The Tour of Africa and The Welsh Mountaineer (pages numbered 17-32, beginning and end wanting), in the autograph of Catherine Hutton.

A volume containing memoranda, chiefly births, marriages, and deaths for 1796-1837, probably in the autograph of the Rev. John Hughes Williams (d. 1868, aged 72), rector of Llangadwaladr, 1824-68.
A note in pencil inside the cover reads 'began this book 30th March 1819'. At the reverse end are 'Observations on the Welsh text of the Bible Copied from the Rev. C. Williams's Book - lettd Anacreontica Graeca'.

Account-book of Harriet Ellen Clough (afterwards Ellis) containing accounts, 1826-1836, and at the reverse end memoranda (chiefly births, marriages and deaths), 1831-1855.
Cuttings of advertisements have been pasted over a few of the pages. Harriet Ellen Clough [of Plas Clough, Henllan, Denbighshire] married the Rev. John Williams-Ellis of Glasfryn, Llangybi, Caernarvonshire, in 1831. Their daughter, Ellen Augusta, became the second wife of J. E. Griffith, Bryndinas, Upper Bangor.

A large notebook labelled 'Memorandums' containing a list of the persons lost in the Abermenai ferry boat disaster, 5 December 1785, copied from a list lent to J. H. Williams by Mr Thos Williams, son of Hugh Williams of Tynllwydan, the only person who escaped alive, and an extract from a letter in the Chester Chronicle, 23 December 1785, and memoranda (chiefly births, marriages and deaths largely of Anglesey and Caernarvonshire interest), 1789-1860, transcribed from newspapers and other sources by the Rev. John Hughes Williams, rector of Llangadwaladr.
A note in pencil inside the cover reads 'Began - Oct. 15 - 1832'.
