A volume labelled on the spine 'Pedigrees by John Ellis, Tai Croesion. MS 1723' consisting of an earlier volume of pedigrees (pp. 9-200, recte 190) by and in the autograph of John Ellis, Taicroesion, [Llechyllched, Angelsey], interleaved with pedigrees in the autograph of J. E. Griffith (1843-1933), genealogist, with an index by him. There are numerous additions to the John Ellis pedigrees, some made in the eighteenth century, others made by J. E. Griffith. The John Ellis portion of the manuscript also contains some poetry, including 'Cowydd Trafferth y Byd ar Gyfraith' ('Anafus worth iawn ofyn...') by Tho. Prys (p.
