An exercise book containing poems apparently written by a soldier from Anglesey [J. Thomas, Llangwyllog] during the Great War 1914-1918. Among the titles are 'Deigryn ar fedd cyfaill a laddwyd ar y Somme yn 1916', 'Fechgyn Hen Eglwys a gwympodd yn y Drin', 'Memorial Hall Bodwrog', 'General Owen Thomas A. S. Môn', and 'Arwyr Rhosgolyn'.

Papers of John Jones (Ivon), Aberystwyth, 1837-1900, including twenty-five letters addressed to him, 1864-1893, mainly containing social and personal news with some political and other matters.
The correspondents are Thomas Charles Edwards, 1876 (f. 1), D. Silvan Evans, 1875-1893 (ff. 2-9), John Griffith (Gohebydd) (12), 1864-1877 (ff. 10-39), J. R. Kilsby Jones, 1864-1874 (ff. 40-47), Joseph Parry, [1874x1880] (ff. 48-49), Evan M. Richards, MP, 1874 (ff. 51-52), and Evan Williams the limner, 1865 (ff. 53-54); a letter, 1846, from William Wood is addressed to a Miss Williams, possibly Ivon's future wife, Mary (ff. 55-56). Also included are autograph verses by Robert Parry (Robin Ddu Eryri), 1887 (f. 50), Rowland Williams (Hwfa Môn), 1900 (ff. 63-64), and G. Pennar Griffiths (Penar), 1900 (f. 65), and three membership cards, 1837-1868.

Compositions submitted to the crown competition (MS 23052D), the chair competition (MS 23053D) and the other poetry competitions (MS 23054D) at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Wrecsam, 1933. MS 23052D includes a letter from J. Gwili Jenkins, one of the adjudicators (f. 1) and the winning pryddest by Simon B. Jones (ff. 2-12); MS 23053D includes letters from the three adjudicators, T. Gwynn Jones, R. Williams Parry and J. J. Williams, together with copies of the latter two's adjudications (ff. 1-25) and the winning awdl by Edgar Phillips ('Trefin') (ff. 26-34).

A scrapbook, compiled by J. W. Jones, Blaenau Ffestiniog, and unbound leaves containing holographs, transcripts, and press cuttings of poetry in free and strict metres, 1893-1903 and 1918?, by William (Gwilym) Morgan, quarryman, of Blaenau Ffestiniog, together with adjudications by [Sir] J[ohn] Morris Jones (press cuttings), [Howell Elvet Lewis] ('Elfed') (transcript), etc. MS. 11064 also contains testimonials, 1901, to William Morgan and Mrs Morgan from Robert Roberts, J. P., surgeon, Blaenau Ffestiniog, the Reverend W[illiam] P[ari] Hughes, Dolgellau, and Wm. Davies, Junior, Managing Partner, The Diphwys Casson Slate Quarries Company, Blaenau Ffestiniog, the first (and presumably the other two) in support of their candidature for the posts of master and matron of Pwllheli Workhouse; and a holograph letter, 1936, from [Humphrey Jones] ('Bryfdir'), Rhiwbryfdir, to [J. W. Jones], enclosing copies of 'in memoriam' verses to Gwilym Morgan. Included in MS. 11065 is a holograph letter, 1899, from Robert Roberts, Blaenau Ffestiniog, to Gwilym Morgan, with observations on 'englynion' in English by the recipient.
