Title deeds for two burgages, a garden and a rent charge issuing out of another garden in Welsh Street, alias Talysarne, Ruthin, recording the sale of one of the burgages by Catherin Roberts of Hordley, Salop, to Agnes vch Edward of Ruthin, 1632; the sale by Ellin Burgesse alias Jones of Llan-rhudd of the rent charge out of a garden to Humffrey ap Robert, 1640, followed by an assignment to William Roberts, tanner, 1656; and the sale by Thomas Jones and Agnes his wife, and William Roberts, all of Ruthin, to Maurice Wynn of Gwydir, 1661, of the two burgages purchased by Agnes from Robert Turbridge of Caerfallen, John Turbridge of Llanbedr and Catherin Roberts of Hordley, the garden purchased by William Roberts from John Langford of Trefalun, and 12d rent out of another garden.

The greater part of the manuscript is in the autograph of Owen Gruffydd of Llanystumdwy, and contains a large number of his poems. There are copies also of cywyddau, englynion, tribanau and dyriau by the following poets:-

In addition to poetry the volume also contains some prose - extracts from Welsh bardic grammars, triads, a short Welsh vocabulary A-Y, and pedigrees of North Wales families.

This manuscript belonged to William Elias who was an agent to the Wynnes of Glynllifon, and a great deal of it was written by him from 1726 to 1743. Pages 136-70 were written by Michael Prichard of Llanllyfni, 10 Feb. 1727/8. The volume contains copies of poems - englynion cywyddau, dyriau - by Edward Morys, Ellis Rowland, Ellis Wynne, Evan William, D. Parry, Dafydd Gwilim, Humphrey Owen, Huw Morys, Humphrey ab Davidd ab Evan clochydd Llan brenn mair, Hugh Lloyd Cynfel, Isaac Humphrey, John Rhydderch, John Tudur, John Roger, Michael Prichard, Owen Gruffydd, Richard Phylip, John Phylip, William Philip, Richard William clochydd Llanllyfni, Mr Robert Lloyd o'r Garth, Robert ap Howel ap Morgan, Roland Vaughan, Rhys Goch o'r Yri, Thomas Prys o Blas Iolyn, William Elias, William Wynne o'r Ragatt, William Cynwal, William Llyn, Y wraig o Faesneyodd, etc. There are a few English verses including englynion in English by Roland Vaughan. Prose and miscellaneous items include triads, a table of interest, proverbs (Mabwaith hen Gyrys o Ial), Beiau ac anafau cerdd dafod, Ymadrodd Selyf Ddoeth, Gorchestion Dafydd Nanmor, a list of the names of gods and goddesses, etc.

The manuscript is written in several hands mostly during the first years of the eighteenth century. It contains a large number of poems, including carolau plygain, by Hugh Morris, and some by David Evans o Ledyrod, Cadwaladr Robert, Sion Hugh o Dregeiriog, and Thomas Prys.

A collection of Welsh strict-metre poetry of the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, including works by Ieuan Gethin ab Ieuan ap Lleision, Iolo Goch, Lewys Mon, Tudur Aled, Hywel Cilan, Gutun Owain, Guto'r Glyn, Ieuan ap Tudur Penllyn, Dafydd Llwyd o Fathafarn, Rhys Pennardd, Tudur Penllyn, Morus ap Hywel ap Tudur, Deio ab Ieuan Ddu, Gruffudd Hiraethog, Rhys o'r Hengaer, Wiliam Cynwal, Edward Brwynllys, Dafydd Nanmor, Sion Ceri, Huw Arwystl, Dafydd ap Siancyn ap Dafydd ap y Crach, Wiliam Llŷn, Rhys Cain, Rhisiart ap Hywel ap Dafydd ab Einion, Hywel Rheinallt, Gruffudd Llwyd ap Dafydd ab Einion Llygliw, Sion Tudur and Tomas Derllys. A cursory examination of the items included in the manuscript suggests that about ten of the poems are not recorded in other manuscripts. The volume is written in several hands of the late sixteenth century including those of Simwnt Fychan (ff. 73-75) and Wiliam Cynwal (ff. 79-81), two of the bardic pupils of Gruffudd Hiraethog, and also the hand of Rhys Cain, the herald bard of Oswestry, who was a pupil of Wiliam Llŷn, another of Gruffudd Hiraethog's pupils (ff. 4-6 verso, 101 verso-148 verso).

Conveyance by the trustees of the will of the late Sir Watkin William Wynn (d. 1840) to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, current tenant for life, of a piece of garden in Ruthin bordering Well Street, with plan incorporated, 1881.

Depositions of witnesses taken at Llanfyllin, in a Chancery lawsuit between Watkin Williams Wynn and Susanna Price, plaintiffs, and Adam Price, defendant, concerning a right of way over a field called Llwyn in Brynelltyn, Montgomeryshire, 1730.

Papers from a lawsuit in the High Court of Chancery, 1727-1735, arising from disputes of Watkin Williams Wynn and Ann, his wife, surviving daughter and heiress to Edward Vaughan of Llwydiarth and Llangedwyn, executrix to her mother, Mary Vaughan and her sister, Mary Strangeways, with John Humffreys/Humphreys of Llanfyllin, former steward of the Vaughan estates. The prosecutors’ bill alleges the steward’s failure to produce accounts, claim of excessive salary, falsification of accounts and various other acts of fraud during his management of the estates of Edward Vaughan and Mary Strangeways between 1706 and 1726. The file also contains the cross-bill and other papers in the suit of John Humphreys and Arabella, his wife, against his former employers; an account of former proceedings before Justice [Robert] Price, 1726, to investigate the accounts; and information brought by the attorney general against all the parties to ascertain the personal estate of Mary Strangeways, particularly concerning her bequests to charity, [?1728]. The documents include pleas and answers of the defendants to both bills, briefs, interrogatories, depositions of witnesses, and the decree of the court, 1727-1732. There are also several bundles of further legal papers, together with earlier letters, accounts, abstracts of rent rolls, petitions of Llangadfan tenants, and other papers adduced as evidence for the case, 1700-1735. Correspondents include John Humffreys, Mary Strangeways, Justice Robert Price, Roderick Lloyd and Watkin Williams Wynn, revealing the personal animosity between the parties, 1719-1731. Letters from Randle Jones to William Travers of Lincoln’s Inn refer to the death of Watkin Williams Wynn’s daughter from smallpox and the illness of his son, 1730.

A family settlement by Watkin Kyffin comprising a demise to trustees, and subsequent declaration of trust for his wife Katherine and younger children, followed by a conveyance to his son Gruffith Kyffin of Tythin Bryn y Kennin and lands in Llansilin, and a moiety of the rectory of Llanfair Caereinion, 1645; draft prenuptial agreement and subsequent settlement of Thomas Owen of Aston and Mary Kyffin, daughter of Watkin Kyffin, 1654-1655; postnuptial settlement of Charles Kyffin and Margaret, daughter of William Kyffin, 1658; family settlements by Charles Kyffin of estates in Cywarch and Llanymawddwy in Merionethshire, and Llangadfan and Llanfyllin, Montgomeryshire, 1664-1668; a bond for performance of covenants to William Williams of Glascoed [probably relating to the marriage settlement of Katherine Kyffin], 1675; and an assignment of debts by William Williams to Thomas Lloyd of Llanhafon in return for payment of £517, the residue of the marriage portion of Katherine, daughter of Watkin Kyffin, deceased, with a schedule of debts and counterpart, 1675.
