Archival history

It is possible that the manuscript belonged at one time to Morgan Llwyd. According to a note on a loose sheet in the manuscript, it is believed to have been once in the library of Pwllycrochon. The suggestion made, by the writer of the same note, that the manuscript was probably written about the time of Edward VI, cannot be substantiated, towards the middle of the reign of Elizabeth would be a better estimate.
