The initials 'W.M.' are impressed on the remains of the old binding laid down on the upper cover of MS 5 (i). Apart from William Maurice, Cadwaladr Dafydd and 'Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn', other owners or readers whose names are recorded include Evan Vaughan ('soe sayth H.M. 1680'), D'd Euann, Rees Cadwaladr, Edward Jones, W. Morgan, William Griffith, and Edward Davies. The volumes subsequently passed into the library of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd', 1836-1921).

The remainder is in several hands of the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century. There are copious annotations by William Maurice and some additions and annotations by Cadwaladr Dafydd, Llanymowddwy (1747) and L[ewis] Morris ('Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn', 1701-65).
