History

Hendre otherwise Tir Thomas Rowland is in the parish of Aberdaron, Caernarfonshire. In 1671 Hendre was owned by Rowland Thomas, and in 1736 by Margaret Meredith, widow, and Michael Prichard. In 1800 Hendre was owned by Margaret Meredith's grand-daughter, Margaret Jones, widow, but let since 1794 to William Roberts of Tymawr in the parish of Llangian. Hendre was divided in 1800, and between 1839 and 1863 Hendrebach was owned by the Owen family of Tynypant in the parish of Boduan, who moved to Liverpool between 1860 and 1863. Robyns Owen & Son is a solicitors firm in Pwllheli, Gwynedd. There is no indication of their connection with Hendre, but they probably acquired the Hendre deeds in the course of their business.
