Name of creator
William John Parry (1842-1927), Labour leader and author, was born in Bethesda, Caernarvonshire. He was industrious in the field of politics throughout his life and proposed several measures which were largely ignored at the time as they were considered too revolutionary. Parry was a member of Caernarvonshire's first county council in 1889 and became its chairman in 1892-1893. He was also instrumental in establishing the North Wales Quarrymen's Union in 1874 and published many books relating to the quarries and their workers.
NLW MSS 5778-5788 may have belonged to Robert Williams, Fron Deg, Bangor, author of Corph o Dduwinyddiaeth, neu Draethawd ar Etholedigaeth a Rhagarfaethiad ... (Bangor, 1831).
