History
Helen Suggett (née Richardson, 1914-1982) of Penarth, Glamorgan, was an academic whose research interests included Anglo-Norman and Old and post-medieval French language and literature. She also did freelance work for Collins Publishers, London, revising and indexing translations and studies of the works of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, corresponding with Rene Hague and others. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955) was a palaeontologist and a Jesuit priest, and was a prolific writer; he was professor of geology at the Catholic Institute in Paris, director of the National Geologic Survey of China, and director of the National Research Center of France. Helen's husband, Philip Suggett (1917-1975), taught Classical subjects and was interested in the history of Mountain Ash and Aberdare, Glamorgan.
