Thank you very much for your letter informing that the army was encamped at Daudnagar and it would be marching to its destination by coaches. You have asked me that before leaving I should go and see the Nawab and follow the wishes of Maharajah Shitab Rae and present the case of the jagir of Nawab Samsam al-Daulah before him. I can assure you that I will do my best to fulfil your desire. Nawab Nasir al-Mulk Bahadur following the request of Rajah Fath Singh, and acting on his promise, will attend to this work. I am sure that he will go to Azimabad and wait for the Nawab to arrive there. Captain Dear / Dyer is already there and we, in consultation with each other, will present the case before the Nawab. We will ask Rao Shitab Rai to come to Azimabad and then we can all present his case to the Nawab
You have sent some papers regarding the case of Rajah Dhiraj. These were returned to you in a sealed envelope. I hope you have seen them by now
Could you please arrange that six copies of the Mahabharata, which are ready, may now be sent to the Maharajah Sahib
Enclosure: After returning from you I have arrived at Sehsaram. As you do not wish the case to take a long time and you want to negotiate with Pihalwan Singh as well as attending the case of Bhojpur, may I suggest that I go to Jahanabad and report to you from there. I have heard that Prince has arrived in Mirzapore Kalan and it is learned that he is going to see Rajah Madhu Singh, son of Rajah Jai Singh
