History

Park Street Church was established, in 1887, following a third attempt by the Hill Street Church to establish a Church at Rhosddu. In 1895 a hall was built in Park Street. In 1904 the Rev. D. W. Elias undertook a joint pastorate of the Church with that of Bersham Road. The Church continued to flourish and a new building was purchased and the cause was transferred to Bersham Road. This chapel was known as the "Iron Chapel". In c. 1905 Park Street was joined with Smithfield Road Church under one pastor. Numbers continued to increase and another building was built in 1911, providing accommodation for 250. The Church closed in 1992.
