John Williams, missionary, to [Henry John Temple,] Lord Palmerston, the then Foreign Secretary, sending him a copy (not present) of his book A Narrative of Missionary Enterprises in the South Sea Islands (London, 1837) (ff. 1-2); together with a copy letter, in his own hand, of Lord Palmerston's reply, 22 August 1837 (ff. 3-4).
Williams discusses his forthcoming return to the South Pacific Ocean (ff. 1 verso-2); he was killed by cannibals on Erromango, Vanuatu, in November 1839.
