Genealogy of the Lloyd family,

A volume, 1900-[1940s], detailing the history of the Lloyd family of Cwm Bychan, near Harlech, Merioneth, containing numerous painted coats of arms, illuminated initials and other illustrations. It was begun in 1900 by Llewelyn Lloyd and added to probably by his son Guy Ynyr Llewelyn Lloyd and other descendants.
The main body of the text (pp. 9-67) chronicles the descent of the family from the 10th century figure, Gwaethvoed Vawr (p. 9), via the lords of Nannau, Merioneth (pp. 17-39), to the Llwyds of Cwm Bychan (pp. 41-49), and then to their descendants in Flintshire, including the Rev. John Lloyd of Caerwys (pp. 52-57) and Angharad Llwyd (pp.58-59), Llewelyn Lloyd (pp. 64-65) and Guy Ynyr Llewelyn Lloyd (pp. 66-67). Successive generations, each with painted coats of arms, are recorded on a recto and additional information inserted on the verso opposite. Prefatory material (pp. v-vi, 1-8) includes heraldic devices and quotations. Items pasted into the volume include bookplates, 1747-[late 19 cent] (inside front cover, p. i), photographs of gravestones and memorials, 1899-[?1920s] (pp. 27-28, 53, 64-65), a note concerning John Lloyd, [1793x1798], possibly in the hand of Thomas Pennant (p. 56e), and pedigrees drawn up by Philip H. Lawson of Chester, 1919 (pp. 46a-d, 56a-d). Another pedigree by Lawson, 1919, found loose in the volume, is in an archival envelope. An inscription by the donors, 2006, is on p. iii.

Hartley family pedigrees,

Pedigrees, genealogical memoranda and notes, 1749-[20 cent, first ½], for the Hartley family of Ynys Cyffyllog [Ynysgyffylog], Arthog, Dolgellau, and related families including Nanney of Llwyn, Wynne of Glasynys and G. T. Evans, Rhyl.
Also included is an incomplete copy (23 ff.) of Rider's British Merlin (London: R. Nutt, for the Company of Stationers, 1749, ESTC T44993) with genealogical notes.

Owen, Dublin, 9 April 1914 (f. 50), Mary A. Ruck, 1891-1895 (ff. 51-56), Robert James Sisson, 24 September 1888 (f. 61), Mrs Vernona T. C. Smith, 1893-1896 (ff. 62-75), Laura Trevor, Machynlleth, 8 May 1894 (ff. 78-79), and John Woodward, 26 May 1893 (f. 80). There is one letter from Lloyd-Owen to Laura Trevor, 2 May 1894 (ff. 76-77). The notes and transcripts, 1895-[c. 1900] (ff. 82-106) include extracts in various hands from Gaol Files, subsidy rolls and wills, (39 Eliz. I)-1781, and relate mainly to Montgomeryshire and Merionethshire and to the recipient's Owen ancestors.

Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire records (facsimile)

A facsimile manuscript in two parts mostly in the hand of William Watkin Edward Wynne. The first part comprises copies (some printed) of charters, public records, deeds, pedigrees, poetry, etc. of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, some of which are taken from transcripts made by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. The material includes records and pedigrees relating to the Wynn family of Peniarth; notes on the Maurice and Owen families of Clenennau, Penmorfa, Caernarvonshire, with related deeds possibly in the hand of William Maurice of Llansilin; deeds relating to the Porkington estate; an extent of the commote of Eifionydd, 1352; an extract from the Coroner's Rolls for Merionethshire, 1345; charters of Castell y Bere and Harlech Castle; pedigrees of Madog ap Dafydd of Hendwr, Llandrillo, Merionethshire; an ode to Einion ap Gruffydd of Corsygedol by Gruffudd Gryg; odes to Dafydd ab Ieuan ab Einion by Guto'r Glyn and Dafydd Nanmor; letters addressed to W. Also included are further miscellaneous genealogical memoranda (ff. 23-26, 28 verso and inside front cover), family trees (ff. 21, 34) and a note, in Welsh, on wells (inside back cover, inverted text).
