Extent and medium
53 ff. (pp. 1-106). Misbound: the present sequence is pp. 1-32, 65-90, 33-64, 91-106 (pagination is that of J. Gwenogvryn Evans) ; 188 x 147 mm. ‘Roughly sewn’ [RMWL]; the straying of six leaves and the soiled appearance of pp. 65 and 90 suggest that the manuscript was at one time disbound. Rebound at NLW, all leaves on guards.

Archival history
Additions include: an englyn apparently autograph on p. 53 by Thomas Amhorys, [16-17 cent.]; and of [17 cent.], a copy on p. 44 of a bond dated 1631 to which one party is John Lewis of Cristionydd, penillion in the same hand, that of the signature of John Lewis on p. 54. Other penillion are on pp. 48 and 64. Other inscribed names of [mid-17 cent.]: William Lloyd (p. 45), David Lewis and Edward Lloyd (p. 54), Mary Lloyd (pp. 54 and 64), John Thomas, owner, witnesses Richard Thomas and David Lloyd (p. 64), Howell Hughes (p. 76), Hugh Lewis (pp. 76 and 90). On p. 88 is a note of a mortgage in Corfedwen dated 1606. Six stray leaves in Peniarth MS 326 [II], pp. 157-68, containing medical recipes in the hand of James Jenkins probably come from this manuscript: they are of the same dimensions and also bear the signatures of John and Hugh Lewis.
