A file of papers, 1979-1980, accumulated by John Jenkins relating to the claims of Llandovery College and Llandovery Town Rugby Football Club to be founder members of the Welsh Rugby Union at an inaugural meeting held at the Castle Hotel, Neath, 12 March 1881; including letters to and from John Jenkins, the Welsh Rugby Union and the historian Dr Gareth Williams; evidence provided by John Jenkins in support of Llandovery College; press cuttings and press releases.

Correspondence, 1976-1978 and 1985, between John Jenkins, a member of staff at Llandovery College, and editor of the school journal during the 1970s, and the Rev. T. H. Ward Hill, former master at the school and editor of the journal, 1924-1948, together with notes and an article by Rev. Hill for the centenary edition of the School Journal in 1977. The file includes an endowment deed for the Thomas Phillips Foundation at Llandovery, dated 25 August 1847.
