Painter, printmaker, performance artist, writer and lecturer Ivor Davies was born in Treharris and studied at Cardiff College of Art and Swansea College of Art. He held teaching posts at, amongst other places, the University of Lausanne and Gwent College of Higher Education, Newport. He has been a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy, The Welsh Group and Beca art group, as well as the Association of Art Historians and the International Association of Art Critics.
