Typescript notes, [?March 1941], by Spr Alun Lewis for three lectures on World Affairs, comprising Lecture I, 'Causes of the Present War' (ff. 1-6), Lecture II (original title 'How trade affects the problems of war and peace' crossed through) (ff. 7-11) and Lecture III (ff. 12-17). The lectures were given while Lewis was assigned to his Brigade's Education Office, and concerned the geopolitical background to the Second World War, the weaponisation of trade and the weaknesses of the League of Nations.
The first lecture appears to be the one infamously interrupted by Lewis's Colonel, accusing him of telling lies (see NLW, Alun Lewis Papers MS 20, ff. 56-58 and John Pikoulis, Alun Lewis: A Life (Bridgend, 1984), pp. 130-131), as suggested by a comment at the start of the second lecture that 'we finished, rather abruptly, last week' (f. 7). The second and third lectures, in particular, contain corrections, deletions and insertions in ink and pencil.

File comprises notes and types questions relating to Lord MacDonald's appearance on WLW Radio in Cincinnati while in the USA as part of UK delegation to the United Nations General Assembly.

Typescript drafts and copies of articles or sections of intended books, mainly written by Gareth Jones on the League of Nations and international affairs. There are also some draft notes by Jones prepared while drafting the articles.

The series consists of files of correspondence and papers, 1934-1981, relating to foreign affairs in general, specific countries and visits abroad undertaken by Goronwy Roberts. Many of them relate to his work as a minister of state at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 1974-1979.

The series comprises papers, mainly printed, relating to foreign affairs, especially Africa.

Typescript speech on cost of living and foreign affairs given by McDonald at Labour Party Conference, Leeds on 10 March 1951.

Documents relating to Gordon MacDonald's speech to the Labour Party Summer School in Abertillery on 17 February 1951, a speech given at a Labour Party conference in Abertillery and a Public meeting at Monmouth on 19 February 1951 along with travel arrangements. The topic of the 17 February speech was foreign affairs and the notes contain thought on Germany, the Soviet Union, the United Nations, Chinas and a printed copy of a speech given on 11 January 1951 at Chatham House by Kenneth Younger, Minister of State which is marked "Restricted". The file also includes a speech given by Gordon MacDonald at Blaina, Monmouthshire om 18 February 1951 on the United Nations and Peace. The Labour MP for Abertillery was Llywelyn Williams, MacDonald's son in law.

A volume entitled 'Cyfrol III. Nodion Cyffredinol', covering the period May 1925-April 1926. The entries relate to domestic and international politics, the writer's removal to Chester, the writer's donation of nearly one thousand books to Llanelly Public Library, the death of the Rev. J. Towyn Jones, M.P., and of Arthur Mee, Welsh place-names, Welsh grammar, the works of Xenophon and Aristotle, numerals used by Cumberland shepherds, etc. Also included in the volume are lists of dialect words from the Llanelly district and of Welsh land measurements.

A volume entitled 'Cyfrol IV. Nodion Cyffredinol', covering the period April 1926-December 1927. The entries relate to the writer's removal to Whitchurch in Salop, the general strike, domestic and international politics, the opening of Llanelly Public Library, the study and teaching of Welsh, the eclipse of the sun, the death of the Rev. Charles Davies, Cardiff, and of Thomas Williams (Brynfab), etc.

A volume entitled 'Cyfrol IX. Nodion Cyffredinol', covering the period 6 July 1932-14 January 1934, and relating to domestic and international politics, the death of the Rev. J. O. Williams (Pedrog), a proposed edition of a biography of the Rev. Daniel Davies (Y Dyn Dall), Welsh inn names, etc. Inset are a few miscellaneous press cuttings.

A volume entitled 'Cyfrol V. Nodion Cyffredinol', covering the period January-27 September 1928. The entries relate to domestic and international politics, Welsh orthography, the death of Thomas Hardy and of Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith, emigration to Australia, the National Eisteddfod held at Treorchy, reminiscences of persons who played a prominent part in the public life of Llanelly, etc.

A volume entitled 'Cyfrol VI. Nodion Cyffredinol', covering the period 2 October 1928-3 January 1930. The entries relate to domestic and international politics, Welsh orthography, the decline of the Welsh language, the bilingual problem in Wales, the forthcoming National Eisteddfod at Llanelly, the death of Sir John Morris-Jones and of J.
