An account of castles in Wales extracted in 1793 from various sources.

A volume containing the printer's typescript copy, 1935, with revisions in the hand of the author and notes by the compositor, of Henry Edmund Theodoric Vale, The World of Wales (London, 1935); a water-colour of Nant Ffrancon, Caernarvonshire by the author's wife, Ruth Vale, is pasted on f. 2, and nine pictures of Welsh castles, mostly extracted from newspapers, are pasted or tipped in on ff. 117v, 202v-243v, passim. Two letters, 1937, from Henry Edmund Theodoric Vale and Ruth Vale are tipped in on ff. ii and 1.

Scrap albums containing a variety of material of Welsh interest, including press cuttings and a large number of engraved prints of castles, etc. NLW MS 7526 contains a printed list of 'Rare plants found in Caernarvonshire'.

Notes, memoranda, sketches, and printed accounts, mainly by G. T. Clark, of some Welsh castles.

Correspondence and papers relating to the touring exhibition The Artist and the Castle comprising images of castles selected for exhibition by Donald Moore, a former Keeper of Pictures and Maps at the National Library of Wales, 1983-1985.

A volume containing an account of a tour in North Wales in the form of transcripts, [18 cent., last ¼], of four letters, dated 20-28 September 1776, sent from Caernarfon (pp. 1-25), Tan-y-Bwlch, Merioneth (pp. 27-49), Denbigh (pp. 50-74) and 'Rhyd Dyn' [Rhyddyn], Flintshire (pp. 75-95), commenting mainly on Welsh history and castles.
The transcripts have been heavily corrected and emended in a different hand. The author, who appears to have resided at Rhyddyn, is not named but may be the Rev. William Warrington. His correspondents are identified as a Mr Eyton (p. 1) and a Dr Jeffries (p. 49). Also included are a preface (ff. v-vii) and several versions of a passage, in the same hand as the emendations, relating an encounter with some Irishmen (f. i verso).
