Aberavon Divisional Labour Party,

Photocopies of papers accumulated by Elinor Rosen of Briton Ferry, a former secretary of the Women's Section of the Briton Ferry branch of the Aberavon Divisional Labour Party. They include a booklet entitled 'The story of the battles and history of the Aberavon Divisional Labour Party' (1950), and Mrs Rosen's recollections of her visit to 10 Downing Street in 1977. A group of twenty black and white photographs relating to the Briton Ferry branch of the Aberavon Divisional Labour Party has been transferred to the Department of Pictures & Maps (photo book 2234 (PG6750)); and an audio taped recording of Mrs Rosen's reminiscences of her experiences in the Labour Party is in the custody of the Sound & Moving Image Department.

Photocopies of the Passengers' Contract Ticket, 15 May 1865, of Abraham Matthews and his family, who sailed from Liverpool to New Bay, Patagonia, on board the 'Mimosa'; and a receipt, 16 December 1865, for one pound signed by Thomas Ellis on behalf of the Welsh settlement in Patagonia.

Xerox of the original manuscript of parts 1, 3-7 (part 2, comprising pp. 101-200, is wanting) of 'Family Chronicle' by Sarah Emily Davies, founder of Girton College, Cambridge. Her father, John Davies (1795-1861), was a native of Llanddewibrefi, Cardiganshire.

Photocopies of manuscripts of Thomas (Tom) Jones (1871-1938), Trealaw, held by the Welsh Folk Museum, Cardiff (Wfm MSS 949-52), relating mainly to his study of the dialect of Glamorgan and including transcripts of glossaries by Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') from Llanover MSS, C1-75 (NLW MSS 13087-162), and a typescript account 'Enwau Lleoedd Y Rhigos' by Tom Jones, 1935.
