These sermons were preached on special occasions, and were selected out of his manuscripts by the Rev. J. Lloyd James, once a private pupil of the author, and to whom he was indebted, in early life, for lessons in Greek and Latin; hence the interest he took in his manuscripts, and copied all he could with a view to their preservation.
