Papers, [1300]-1936, from the library of Mrs Ethel Jones of Aberystwyth comprising material of Pembrokeshire interest, including estate rentals, farm accounts, correspondence relating to land tenure, rules of Milford Friendly Society and turnpike gate receipts at Haverfordwest; papers of or relating to the Goldwyer family of Marlborough and [?Bristol] which include a tour journal of 1799 and correspondence; together with miscellaneous accounts, legal precedents, correspondence and a volume of coats of arms, much of which material also relates to Pembrokeshire.

A journal of a tour of Wales undertaken from Bath by Dr. [ ] Robertson, in company with J. Goldwyer, between 24 June and 19 July, 1799. The tour comprised visits to Bristol, Caerwent, Caerleon, Newport, Caerphilly, Llandaff, Cardiff, Cowbridge, Llantwit [Major], St. Donats, Pyle, Margam, Aberavon, Baglan, Neath, Melincourt, Pont Neath Vaughan and the neighbouring waterfalls, Brecon, Builth, Rhaeadr (Rhayader Gowy), Devil's Bridge, Aberystwyth, Aberdovey, Towyn, Peniarth, Barmouth, Dolgellau, Bala (with an account of the stocking market), Llangollen, Llanfyllin (Llanvitlin), Welsh Pool, Montgomery, Bishop's Castle, Ludlow, Leominster, Hereford, Monmouth, Chepstow, Bristol, and Bath. Pasted on the flyleaf is the following inscription: 'My grandfathers' Dr. Robertson and J. Goldwyer's walking Tour in S. Wales in 1799 mentions Baglan. H. L. Goldwyer'.

Illustrated transcripts of a treatise and notes on heraldry. The volume bears the name of Miss Jane Goldwyer, 25 March, 1819. Inset are a poem describing the equipage of knights riding in procession to a joust, and a stanza by Bishop [Benjamin] Hoadley entitled 'On a Spring near Stourton'.

A notebook containing medical and other recipes written largely in the same hand. Beginning at the end are entries of the birth of [his] children between 1727 and 1749/1750 (with some entries of death to 1801), and entries of the marriage of Frances Richmond Webb and Mr. T. Humphris at Swindon in 1734 and of the birth of their children between 1735 and 1754.

Accounts and vouchers, 1820-1822, relating to the executorship of Thomas Phillips, vicar of West Haroldston and perpetual curate of Lambston, co. Pembroke. Among them are a statement of the proceeds of the parishes of Lambston and West Haroldston which the Reverend J[oh]n Andros, successor to Thomas Phillips, consents to share with the executors, and an estimate of sundry repairs required to be done at the chancel and glebe at Lambstone and Haroldstone. The papers are contained in a notebook from which all but one (dated 1771) of the manuscript leaves have been cut away. Written on the end papers of the notebook are London addresses of John Allen of Dale Castle and others.

An account book, with numerous insets, of Levi Griffiths of Rickeston and Pointz Castle, parish of Brawdy, co. Pembroke, 1836-1848, largely recording accounts with individual servants and tenants.

A rental of the estate of W[illiam] H[enry] Scourfield, Moat, in the hundreds of Dungleddy, Roose, Dewsland, and Kemmes, co. Pembroke, and in the town and county of Haverford West, 1809-1818. Insets include additional accounts to 1821; conditions for letting land by auction at New Moat, 1812; and a holograph letter from Charles Child, Nayland, to [Henry] Rees, 1818 (arrears of rent).

Statements of accounts of receipts and disbursements (in one book by H[enr]y Rees), 1820-1824, on behalf of J. F. Barham in respect of the Trecoon estate.

An account book, 1810-1817, and vouchers, 1809-1818, of John Bateman, Haverfordwest, recording disbursements (wages, etc.) in respect of the farm of Llwynbedw, parish of Llan-y-cefn, co. Pembroke. The account book (NLW MS 11808iA) was originally used to record a few legal costs of the period 1780-1787.

Thirteen holograph letters to Henry Goldwyer, Bristol, from George Gwyther, Custom House, Milford, 1840-1841 (6) (the recipient's rental and the proceeds of his Fox Hill and Woodland Collieries in Walton [West]) (with accompanying accounts), James Kealy, Dalkey, 1832 (the management of Dalkey and the market), John Owens, Little haven, 1840 (the unauthorised sinking of pits on property in the writer's occupation) (with accounts of culm landed), J. Rogers Powell, Haverfordwest, [1837]-1841 (4) (land in dispute at Walton, the recipient's rental at Walton), and John Prosser, Little Haven, 1840 (a request for a lease of a colliery at Walton); and six holograph letters from Richd. Rees, Hilton, to Henry Goldwyer and George Gwyther, 1840 (the working of the Fox Hill and Woodland Collieries in Walton) (with some accounts).

An undated [mid eighteenth century] rental of the estate of Great Nash in the parishes of St. Lawrence, St. Edrins, Granston, Mathery, Llanhowell, St. Davids, Camross, Talbenny, St. Thomas in Haverfordwest, St. Mary's in Haverfordwest, Burton, and Langum, co. Pembroke; a draft rental, 1810, of the estates of John James, Pantsaison, in the parishes of Monington, Saint Dogmells, Moilgrove, Bayvill, and Narberth, co. Pembroke; and an alphabetical list, compiled in 1850, of the freemen for the town and county of Haverfordwest (348 names).

Northumberland (ermine, a saltire gules) (mounted on a fragment of an early seventeenth century survey of the farm of properties in Iscoyd Gwynioneth, Aberustwith, Iscoyd Cardigan, Cruthin, Generglin, Diffrin Claragh, Llangeby, Cardigan, Mevennyth, Kilkennon, and Hanyniocke, co. Cardigan); a calligraphic exercise by Thomas Meyler, 1816; a passport issued to Edward Picton Phillips, 1843; a typescript carbon copy of a letter from J. W. Phillips to the press, 1933, relating to the building of the organs of St. Mary's and St. Martin's [Haverfordwest]; and a brief typescript description and history of Skomer Island.

The petition [1650] of the inhabitants of the town and county of Haverford West to the Commons of England in Parliament assembled, for relief from the monthly assessment and the assessment for Ireland, raised from £10 to £45; and a land tax assessment of St. Martyns, Bridgestreet, and Shipstreett ward in the town and county of Haverfordwest, 1719.
