Returns by incumbents and others to a questionnaire issued by Albert Owen Evans, September, 1902, relating to the religious denominational adherence of members of staffs of schools within the diocese of Bangor; together with holograph covering letters to A. Bangor diocesan schools,

Papers compiled by Albert Owen Evans, inspector of schools for the diocese of Bangor, relating to religious instruction in schools of the Bangor Diocesan Board of Education. They include returns to a questionnaire issued in Caernarvonshire, February, 1908; printed analysis, issued by the Caernarvonshire Education Committee, of denominational religious instruction in diocesan and other schools in Caernarvonshire, with marginal notes, together with copies of the syllabus used in specifed schools; an undated analysis by A. O. Evans of returns to a questionnaire in Caernarvonshire; a letter, 1903, from J. Henry Thomas, clerk to the Caernarvon School Board, to D. Alban Lloyd, Caernarvon, and a draft letter from the latter to A. O. Evans; and press cuttings.

Armorial, &c.,

A volume containing a glossary of armorial families and individuals; a few pedigrees, notably of Griffith of Carreg-lwyd, Llanfaethlu; a list of the fifteen tribes of North Wales; and a note and diagram to ascertain the acreage of the island of Anglesey.

Lectures in botany,

A printed syllabus, with copious manuscript notes, of a course of eight lectures in Botany for schoolmasters' classes conducted by the Agricultural Department of the University College of North Wales, Bangor.

A log book of the ship 'York', under the command of Captain William Hoddart, 3 December, 1785-29 March, 1787, including a list of the ship's company and an account of her voyage to St. Helena and China.

Miscellaneous papers kept by Albert Owen Evans:- an order in the case of Rowland Evans, president of the Bangor Rechabites, and David Davies, a member of the society, 1853; a sermon preached at Llanfechell, 1880; instructions to local 'observers' of the Anglesey Antiquarian Society, 1912; questionnaires on the parishes of Llanfaethlu and Llanfwrog, Anglesey, by the Royal Commission on Ancient Monuments in Wales, 1915; an imitation mourning card for Hamlin H. Jones, B. A., 1898; and a circular entitled 'The Church Question and the Forthcoming Election' [in Anglesey, 1918].

A minute book of the executive, emergency, and sub-committee meetings of the Bangor Diocesan Branch of the Central Church Committee and of the Bangor Diocesan Church Committee for Church Defence and Church Instruction, 1895-1906. Among the insets is a holograph letter, 1904, from H[enry] L[ewis] James, the Rectory, Llangefni, to the secretary, Canon [Edward] Hughes [rector of Barmouth].
