The series comprises general letters to Eirene White, 1928-1999, a small group of drafts and copies of letters from her, 1936-1995, a few stray letters, 1947-1985, and a few files of letters on specific themes, 1989-1995. The letters follow the course of Eirene White's career, her political posts and other interests. There is a mingling of political and personal letters. The correspondents include many prominent politicians and public figures.
