Thank you very much for your letter informing that you were sending Asif Khan to me to raise an army of five hundred soldiers. At present a number of short-sighted zamindars of Ajvalah, Angal, Kajak etc., are rebelling against me and I am engaged in suppressing these rebellions. Letter from Murli Dhar

Today, Thursday, 6 Dhu al-Qadah, reg. yr. 7, in the morning, the British resident / Bare Sahib, his assistant / Chote Sahib, Maharajah Shitab Rai and other officials of the state went to Bagh Jafar Khan. The Nawab had sent a fringed palanquin for their travel. Following the traditions of the kings Maharajah Shitab Rai paid his customary respects to the Nawab and then riding in the decorated palanquin returned to the fort. When they heard from the Divan that the state business had been conducted everyone came in to present their nazurs to the Nawab Sahib. Until this time Maharajah Dhiraj Narayan with his courtiers had not arrived at the Bagh Jafar Khan but as soon as Maharajah Shitab Rai returned and came back to the fort Maharajah Dhiraj Narayan also came there. It has been reported that Colonel Baker has arrived at Azimabad from Batakasi. Date(s) from item: Dhu al-Qadah 16 received: April 24 (English) / 27 (Persian) received 1766. Letter from Muin al-Daulah Bahadur

Nawab Najm al-Khan Bahadur has gone to Sadiq Bagh to bid farewell to your servants. Two days ago he fell sick / arizah-yi ahu. It is feared that as soon as the servants had left he felt pain in his stomach. In the morning in order to avoid catching cholera he moved to his residence. The court physicians gave him all sorts of medicines but he could not relieve himself. The attack of cholera became more severe and his condition became worse. At that time I was after bidding farewell to your servants staying in Gulab Bagh. I was still there on Wednesday when I heard the news of his illness. When I reached there I found that the situation was very grim. In the afternoon of Thursday, 27 Dhu al-Qadah he passed away to the eternal life. Date(s) from item: Reg. yr 7, Dhu al-Qadah 29 received: May 9 (English) / 10 (Persian) received 1766. Envelope numbered A No. 12
