Following your orders, I instructed officials and workers to construct four posts between Nalah Odhvah and Farrukhabad and six posts between the mausoleum of Pir Baha and Nalah Samdh which is situated on the other side of Sukrekli. I have stationed a company of foot and mounted soldiers on each post. In this way, I have built up a system of delivering post regularly by messengers. I have sent the details of this action to Nawab Muin al-Daulah Bahadur Muzaffar Jang. I hope you have also written to him about this matter.
Enclosure 1: Yad-dasht. Details of the constructions of posts and the distances between each post.
Enclosure 2: As enclosure 1

I have not received any communication from you since long. This is contrary to our long friendship. I have always been pleased to serve you and obey your commands and I appreciate your steadfastness on our agreements. I hope that with the blessing of the Almighty you will be able to take over the administration of the whole of India, subdue all troublemakers, and serve the population of this country. I will approve and recommend that this be extended to the province of Jhansi also. In order to renew our old friendship I am sending Nilu Pandit to you who will be able to brief you about all the important matters

Your letter of 25 Dhu al-Hijjah received here on 29 Dhu al-Hijjah from the garden of Mirza Fazl informing that you were planning to go to Baqipore and from there to Chiran Cihrah where you were going to meet Nawab Shuja al-Daulah Safdar Jang. In this letter you asked me to send whatever quantity of special ceremonial cloth was available as well as fifty length [thans] of the finest quality shabnam [muslin]. Nawab Shuja al-Daulah is still in Chiran Chihrah where he has received your letter. Whatever length of special ceremonial cloth I could get was sent to you through your employee and a few thans, which had arrived here later, are being sent to you separately. As we do not get the finest type of cloth here, whatever quality and quantity of muslin, turban cloth, Khasah and tanzib I had in stock I have sent you by post so that it reaches you quickly. I have received a copy of the agreement with Maharajah Dhiraj Narayan, which you had enclosed with your letter. I will examine the account books of Bihar province when these are supplied to me by the Maharajah. He has sent to me most of the papers relating to the demand of wages of the army. It will be good to remind him to send me the rest of the papers so that we could settle these accounts properly.
Enclosure: Details of the cloth sent to Clive

In some of the letters received from Lord Clive he has mentioned your petition. I have therefore asked him to send his vakil to me with your petition so that we can view the recommendations and, God willing, after reading what Clive has to say about you, issue testimonials for awarding the appropriate honours

Apparently the mint at Benares has issued a rupee coin bearing our portrait. Similarly, Oudh mint has also issued a similar coin but later Shuja al-Daulah ordered this to stop and instead issued another coin bearing his own legend. The same coin is being issued from Allahabad. This practice is not proper and should be stopped. Therefore, I am writing to you that you instruct all the people concerned to stop this practice and instead issue coins similar to those issued from Allahabad only. At present, I am staying at Korah Jahanabad. I will wait here until the English regiment arrives here and only then will I march to Allahabad. Because of the reduced sums received from the Company I will not be able to pay for the expenses of your army. Therefore please instruct them not to claim any expenses from us when they arrive here

Received your letter informing that although Maharajah Rajah Shitab Rai was an intelligent and serious person he was mismanaging his state and that I should go there for two months and sort out the problems. Maharajah Shitab Rai is no doubt unequal in intelligence, understanding and seriousness but he leaves the management of his state to his advisers. Therefore, he himself is not to be blamed. I am prepared to follow your instructions and do what you have asked me to do. How the affairs of the state were put right last year is very well-known to you when you had called me and Mr Sykes [?] to perform this task. But this year, in my view, it is not necessary to send two people to perform this task. Whatever you decide, I will be glad to follow your instructions
