Crawshay family pedigree,

A negative photostat copy of a pedigree of the Crawshay family, beginning with William Crashaw of Woodhouse, Yorkshire, grandfather of Richard Crawshay, founder of Cyfarthfa Iron Works. The pedigree is signed 'Harmer Steele, 21 College Hill, London, EC.'. Kept in Pedigree Box 5.

Ystrad Marchell charters,

Negative photostats of three charters granted to the abbey of Ystrad Marchell by Mareduth ap Howel, lord of Edeyrnion, 1176, Elisse ap Madoc, 1198, and Madoc ap Gruffudd, [1206]. The original charters were deposited in NLW (see NLW, Annual report 1949-50, p. 51) but later transferred to Caernarfon Record Office. The text is published in Cylch. Cym. Hanes Feirionydd, 1 (1949-50), 87-88. The image of the 1176 charter is published online on the 'Gathering The Jewels' website, at <www.gtj.org.uk/cy/large/item/GTJ17786/> (accessed 2008-12-11).

Antient British music,

A facsimile copy of BL Add. MS 14939, 'Antient British music', published in 1742, with manuscript additions, including instruction for playing the 'crwth', and a list of songs used by harpers in Wales, in the hand of Richard Morris. This copy was formerly NLW MS 14427E.

Maesycrugiau Railway Station papers,

Photocopies of an article on Maesycrugiau Railway Station, Carmarthenshire, contributed by Mr D. J. Thomas, Llanllwni, to The Carmarthen Times, August 1971; a roadside wagon list in respect of a truck proceeding from Maesycrugiau to Carmarthen (Manchester & Milford Railway), October 1875; and a daily cash sheet relating to Mesycrugiau station, 28 April 1879.

Verity family pedigrees,

A bound set of photocopies of pedigrees of various branches of the Verity family, to accompany the donor's 'History of the Verity family of Bridgend, Glamorgan' (see NLW Facs 164-165).

Llyfr Coch W. H. Griffiths, Presteigne,

A photocopy of a manuscript volume described on its 'title-page' as 'Llyfr Coch containing a collection of arms selected from various authentic sources and arranged alphabetically by W. H. Griffiths, Presteigne, 1836'. The original is in the possession of the Radnorshire Society.

Negative and positive photostat copies of manuscripts of Piers Plowman, namely, BL Add. MS 35157, BL Cotton Vespasian MS B.xvi, BL Royal MS 18 B.xvii, Cambridge, Trinity College MS R.3.14, BL Cotton Caligula MS A xi, BL Add. MS 35287, BL Harley MS 875, Cambridge MS Gg.4.31, Cambridge MS Gg.4.21., Westminster MS Eaton Hall, Oriel MS 79. The positive photostats were transferred from NLW MSS 14571-80 and 14599.

Phoebe Joyce Evans autobiography,

Xerox copy of 'By diverse paths: autobiography of Phoebe Joyce Evans, 1890-1975'. Mrs Evans gives an account of her childhood days in Penarth, Glamorgan, two years spent in Poland, 1909-1911, and of her experiences in the mission field in Madagascar, 1913-1936, where she met her husband, the Rev. William Evans (d. 1948).

Lewis Evans, the manner of settling plantations in America,

Two photostat copies, respectively positive and negative, of an account of 'the manner of settling plantations in America', written by Lewis Evans in a letter, dated 1 November 1764 at Philadelphia, to John Pownall. Taken from an original in the possession of the Royal Society of Arts. This copy was formerly NLW MS 14097D.

The encouragement of agriculture and manufactures in the British colony of Georgia,

Two photostat copies, positive and negative, of correspondence and related material 'with regard to the encouragement by the Premium Society of the Royal Society of Arts, of agriculture and manufactures in the British colonies, especially, as far as the present material is concerned, with regard to Georgia'. The letters are dated 1758-1761 and written by Henry Ellis, governor of Georgia, and John Ellis. From an original in the possession of the Royal Society of Arts. This copy was formerly NLW MS 14098E.
