Some of the notes have been written on the blank verso or in the margins of copies of printed leaflets advertising 'Sea Bathing' and 'Genteel Lodgings' at the Ball, Swanbridge, seven miles from Cardiff, the wares of Tucketts and Fletcher, Bristol (Tucketts and Fletcher, grocers and tea-dealers, no. 11, Corn-Street, Bristol ([Bristol], [1795?], ESTC T230410)), and the wares of E. M. Downing at his 'Grand Musical Repository', Bristol, and a printed copy of 'An Elegy on the late Reverend John Wesley'.

Transcripts mainly by Ioan Pedr of 'cywyddau', 'cerddi' and other poems by Morus ap Robert, Elis Roberts, John Edwards ('Philomath'), Jonathan Hughes, Evan James ('Ieuan ab Iago', Tynyffridd, Llanfachreth) and others; transcripts of poetry, proverbs, etc. contained in manuscripts of Robert William (Pandy, Rhiwaedog), Rowland vab Owen (Llanfachreth), John Jones (Tynybraich, Dinas Mawddwy) and Evan Lloyd (Fron, Bala); transcript of 'Einion ap Gwalchmai', an interlude by Hugh Jones (Llangwm) and John Cadwaladr (Bala).

An imperfect volume of free-metre poetry ('cerddi', 'dyriau', and 'penillion') by William Pellis (1704), Dafydd Manuel, John Rhydderch, Ffoulk Lloyd, Hugh Roberts, Kyffin Caerfyrddin, Huw Morys, Richiart Abraham, Robert Humphreys ('o Ragad'), Edwart Rolant, and Thomas Jones, together with some minor later additions. The volume was written during the period 1702-1709 and is in the hand of Hugh Roberts, 'wevar by trate', 'of tan rogo' ('Trigfannol tan rogo yn aber Geley dinbuch'). The manuscript also bears several later names, such as Hugh Jones (1773, 1779), David Williams (born 1779), William Ouan(e)s (1778), 'Hughs Hughs', Llandrillo, Thos. Hughs 'of Llwydga', Wm. Evanes of Nant ycha', Robert 'Highs' (1734), etc.

An imperfect volume of medical and veterinary recipes. A few 'englynion', in the hand of David Jones, Trefriw, have been entered on the blank space of one page. Also bound in the volume is a text of 'Cerdd Elix Euron' ('nis gwn i pwy ai gwnaeth').

A mutilated manuscript of John Jones ('Pyll Glan Conwy') containing arithmetic and numeration rules and exercises, and a few transcripts of Welsh poetry (among them a fragment of the interlude 'Pedair Colofn Gwladwriaeth' by Thomas Edwards, 'Twm o'r Nant') and collects.

A volume originally used largely by the Reverend Thomas Richards, Darowen as an account book, 1821-6, of the Darowen Auxiliary of the Society for Promoting Christianity among the Jews ('Cymdeithas Gynnorthwyol ir Iuddewon' or 'Cyfaill Israel'). The Auxiliary Society was established on 12 January 1821 and the account book contains rules, lists of officers, particulars of individual subscriptions (and of collections previously made during the period 1816-20), and copies of letters of acknowledgment of annual contributions to the parent Society. The remainder, and by far the greater part, of the volume was subsequently used largely by Mary Richards to record transcripts of 'carolau', 'englynion', 'cywyddau', hymns, etc. by Hugh Jones (Maesglase), W. Thomas, John Morris, Aneurin Owain, Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'), Sion Philip, Dafydd Rhys (Llanbryn Mair), [John Jones] 'Tegid', John William (Dolgellau), Thomas Jones (Creaton), Robert Davies (Nantglyn), William Wynne ('Person Llancanhafal'), Joseph Marpole, [?Thomas Roberts] ('Cyfell Cadfan' (1799), 'Philo Cadfan'), Cadwaladr Dafydd (Llan y Mowddwy), Owen Robert, David William [?Llandeilo Fach], David Harris (?Carno), Dafydd Jones ['Dafydd Siôn Siâms'] 'Dafydd ab Ioan' ('rhwymwr Llyfrau Penrhyn Deutraeth'), Rowland Hugh (Grienyn), David Ellis ('Dafydd Elis Gof Llan y Mowddwy'), D. A composite volume comprising three exercise books, with numerous items inset and mounted therein, largely in the hands of Thomas Richards, Mary Richards and Lewis Richards, Darowen. There are copious additions to the original volume made during the second half of the eighteenth century, many being in the hand of Margaret Davies (c. 1700-85?), Coetgae-du, Trawsfynydd. At the beginning of the volume there are a subject classification of the contents and an incomplete contents list in the hand of the original scribe ('Llyma dabal i amlygv pa ryw gywydd[av] owdlav ne englynion, ar bara achosion, i bwy y canwyd hwy ag ymha ddalen y maent yn scrifenedic, megis y gwelwch yn y drefn isod'), and lists by Margaret Davies of Welsh poets and their supposed floruits ('Llymma Henwau part or Beirdd Gynt sef y rhai mwya hynod ac amcan or pryd yr oeddynt yn canu') and the children of Lewis ab Owen 'y Barwn Or Llwyn' [?Dolgellau]. The volume is divided into seven parts, the first lacking a title but containing religious poems and 'Kowyddau ir byd', and the remainder being successively entitled '... Moliant i wyr a ffendefigion Gwynedd ...', '... Kowyddau Kynghorion ...' and 'Kowyddau Kymod, '... Kowyddau erfyniadau neu ofynion ...', '... Kowyddau ymryson rhwng Beirdd ...', '... amryw gowyddau i ferched', and 'marwnadau'. The spine is lettered 'Llyfr David Elis, 1630'.

(Ii) A booklet largely in the hand of Evan Thomas (ob. 1781), Cwmhwylfod, Sarnau, near Bala containing extracts from Y Drych Cristianogawl (Rhotomagi, 1585); and poetry in strict and free metres by Evan James, Sr. Rogier, Edward Sam[ue]l, Dafydd yn Ifan ('o Lanfair Careinion'), Edwart Moris, John Edward Ma..., Hugh Hughes and John William(s); and anonymous compositions, among them a 'Hymn yngulch duwdod Iesu Grist ...'. The first collection, entitled 'Llwyn y Gell', includes 'cywyddau', etc. by Gruff. The sources used by the scribe for his transcripts of poems include 'L[l]yfr ysgrif Eiddo Mr. Owen Roberts gynt o Bentraeth Mon', 'L[l]yfrau Owen Gruffydd Llanystumdwy', and '[L]lyfrau M.S. pwdredig eiddo Mr. Jonathan Jones, Colector of Carnarfon 1855'. At the beginning is a list of poets whose titles were taken from Y Greal and a list of titles of poems transcribed in full. The collection was compiled during the period 1855-9, although the fly-leaf bears the scribe's name dated 1863. The second collection, beginning at the end, is entitled 'Y Gell Gynen, ('herwydd canau cynen sydd ynddo') and contains fliting poems ('ymrysongerddi') between Edmwnt Prys and William Cynwal and Sion Philip and Edmunt Prys, together with additional 'cywyddau' by Edmunt Prys. This section of the manuscript was compiled between 1844 and 1846, but there are some additions of the period 1859-61. Recorded on the upper end paper are timber purchase accounts of Owen Williams, 1844-5. The manuscript is lettered on the spine 'Owain Gwyrfai MS'.

A volume lettered 'Llyfr J. Morris - II', being a collection of 'cerddi', 'englynion', etc. by Thomas Edwards ['Twm o'r Nant'], Hugh Jones ('o Langwm'), Dafydd Jones ('neu'n Gyffredyn y tailiwr hir') and Hugh Morris ('yr Englyn diwaetha medd rhai Ag nid annhebig a wnaeth ...'), and anonymous poems. There are copious marginal entries which are entirely irrelevant to the text.

A manuscript of the third quarter of the eighteenth century largely in the hand of Richard Foulke of Penygraig [parish of Llansilin]. It contains 'cerddi', 'Ymddiddanion', 'carolau', 'dyriau', etc. by Hugh Morris, Humphre Ralph ('Gwas Mr. Richards Person Llanvyllin, 1756), Jonathan Hughes, Edward Rowland, Arthur Jones (1758), Hugh Jones ('o Langwm'), John Richard ('or bryn côch') (poem torn away), John Griffiths (1757), Evan Arthur, William Philip, Gruffudd Phylip, Robert Edward Lewis ('o Gwm Mynach'), Matthew Owen and Rowland Vaughan ('o Gaer-gai, Esquire'), and anonymous poems; 'englynion' and 'cywyddau' by Ed[ward] Morris, Hugh Morris, Moris ap Robert ('o'r Bala'), Hugh Llyn and Jonathan Hughes; and a prayer entitled 'Gweddi cyn mynd i Gysgu ... Dyma yr weddi y bydde yr hen Richard Foulke o Rhiwlas taid Richard Foulke o Benygraig; ar taid yma ai Gwnaeth'.

A collection of 'cerddi', 'carolau', etc. by Hugh Morris, together with a 'cerdd' by Huw Jones, Llangwm, a 'cerdd' by the Reverend Walter Davies ['Gwallter Mechain'], anonymous 'englynion, 'carolau' and some financial accounts, 1805 and undated. The volume is in the hand of Huw Jones, Llangwm, with a few later additions by Elizabeth Maurice and by Mary Richards, Darowen. It belonged to Thomas Powel, 1804, and Martha Powel, 1805, and also bears the names of Henry Powel, 1756, John Jones, carpenter, Pentregayr [Oswestry] and Martha Edwards.
