Brecon and Radnorshire

File comprises election addresses from the Brecon and Radnorshire by-election, held on 1st August 2019, following the recall of the incumbent MP, Chris Davies. Plaid Cymru and the Wales Green Party decided not to contest the election, instead backing Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate Jane Dodds in order to avoid splitting the anti-Brexit vote.

A printed volume, 2019, detailing the history and activities of the Bristol Welsh Society and incorporating copies of a number of documents from the Society’s records, 1920-2018 (with gaps), including photographs, minutes, term cards and programmes, and documents relating to the Society’s 50th anniversary celebrations; and copies of programmes for Eisteddfodau and rallies, charity concerts, and social evenings. The volume also includes a copy of a letter (2019), sent by Pedr ap Llwyd, National Library of Wales, confirming the Library’s acceptance of the Society’s collections.

2019 Euro Election

File comprises election addresses and assorted papers circulated in the Wales electoral region during the campaign for the European Parliament elections in 2019. Arrangements to hold the election were made at the last minute as the UK had been due to leave the EU at the end of Marh 2019 and two new parties. the Brexit Party and Change UK - The Independent Group joined the established parties in fighting the election. File also includes some material circulated in England for the elections.
