Verity family pedigrees,

A bound set of photocopies of pedigrees of various branches of the Verity family, to accompany the donor's 'History of the Verity family of Bridgend, Glamorgan' (see NLW Facs 164-165).

Two items re. the Mimosa and the Welsh settlement in Patagonia,

Photocopies of the Passengers' Contract Ticket, 15 May 1865, of Abraham Matthews and his family, who sailed from Liverpool to New Bay, Patagonia, on board the 'Mimosa'; and a receipt, 16 December 1865, for one pound signed by Thomas Ellis on behalf of the Welsh settlement in Patagonia.

Two items re. David Lloyd George,

A photocopy of an outline of Lord Rosebery's 'Great Speech' delivered at Glasgow, 10 Sept. 1909, regarding David Lloyd George's Budget and proposed Finance Bill; and of an article, 1912, entitled 'The Decline of Mr Lloyd George'.

Two Cardiganshire letters,

A photocopy of a letter, 1795, from Isaac Williams, son of the Rev. Isaac Williams, Ystrad Teilo, Cardiganshire, to his mother; and a letter, [n.d.], to the Rev. Lewis Evans ([c. 1767]-1835), vicar of Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn and of Llanfihangel Genau'r-glyn, from a cousin Jenkin Jones, Garthbeibio.

Traherne pedigrees,

Three additional pedigree charts, supplementing the donor Vera E. Purslow's work 'Centuries of Traherne families'.

Tom Jones manuscripts,

Photocopies of manuscripts of Thomas (Tom) Jones (1871-1938), Trealaw, held by the Welsh Folk Museum, Cardiff (Wfm MSS 949-52), relating mainly to his study of the dialect of Glamorgan and including transcripts of glossaries by Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') from Llanover MSS, C1-75 (NLW MSS 13087-162), and a typescript account 'Enwau Lleoedd Y Rhigos' by Tom Jones, 1935.

Three wills,

Register copies of the following Prerogative Court of Canterbury probates: (i) Roger Leech of Stagbach, parish of Leamster, Herefordshire, weaver, 1654; (ii) Lewis Thomas Lewis of Penmon [Anglesey], 1656; and (iii) Anne Rodd of Nash, Herefordshire, widow, 1656. The originals are in TNA.

Three PCC wills,

Negative photostat facsimiles (two copies of each) of three wills proved at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury: (i) William Lloyd of Maesbangor, Cardiganshire, gent., 1675-1676; (ii) Elizabeth Baxter of Llanllwchhearn, Montgomeryshire, widow, 1697/8; and (iii) Rev. Thomas Powell of Montgomery, Montgomeryshire, 1795 (pedigree note on dorse).

Photocopies of a letter, 1867, from William Berry, Bideford, Devon, to his son and two letters, 1860 and n.d., from B. Chapple, a private in the British Army serving in India, to his mother.

Thomas William Nassau Greene and the Welsh colony in Patagonia,

A photocopy of a letter, 9 May 1865, from T. W. N. Greene, Liverpool [Thomas William Nassau Greene of Kilkea, Co. Kildare, Ireland] to Michael D. Jones, Y Bala (1822-1898), offering his services as surgeon to the Welsh colony in New Bay, Patagonia, and setting out the terms for his appointment. There is a signed note by the recipient signifying his acceptance; together with photocopies of articles, 1960-1983, concerning the colony.
