Viscount Midleton Irish estate letter-books,

Xerox copies of typescript transcripts, [20 cent.], of eighty-five letters with two letter-books and other papers covering the Irish estates of Viscount Midleton, 1686-1838. (Copies from the Guildford Museum and Muniment Room, Castle Arch, Guildford, Surrey, donated to the Library by the Public Record Office of Northen Ireland).

The documents comprise: a memorandum of sums due to the Earl of Arundel from his lordships in the march of Wales at Michaelmas 1370 (no. 5923); an account of wages paid for works at Castrum Isabella (Shrawardine) during 'anno XVII', probably 1393-1394 (no. 5924); a view of account of Robert Eggerley, receiver of the lordships of Oswestry and Chirk from Michaelmas 1394 to the morrow of St Andrew the Apostle next following (1 Dec.) (no. 8392); accounts of the officers of the Duparts of the lordship of Oswestry, held by the king's custodians by reason of the minority of John D'Arundel, Michaelmas 1421-Michaelmas 1422 (no. 8393); a roll of muniments consisting of (a) transcripts of deeds relating mainly to properties of Agnes Barker, Einion Gethin, Richard Ireland and Roger Muccleston in the lordship of Oswestry, and other properties in Rhuddlan, 1332-1425, and (b) estreats of the court rolls of the town and patria of Oswestry relating to land transactions in those areas, 1404-1422 (no's 9010-1970); an account of Alan de Thorp, receiver of the lordship of Oswestry, Michaelmas 1394-Michaelmas 1395, including accounts of the parkers of Bromhurst and Oswestry for the same period (no. 9277); a series of court rolls and accounts of the manors of Kinnerley and Ruyton, 1313-1513 (no's 7233-7260, 7263-7345).

John Edwards and Susanna Perrott marriage settlement,

Marriage settlement, dated 7 January 1689/90, of John Edwards of Llangattock iuxta Crickhowell, gent., and Susanna Perrott of Llangors, spinster, both of Breconshire, being a feoffment to uses of a mansion house called Tuy glan Uske and lands in the parish of Llangenny, Breconshire.

Lodowick Lewes of Dol y Gwenith will,

Probate of the will (dated 16 March 1676/7, proved 10 July 1677) of Lodowick Lewes of Dol y Gwenith, parish of Llanidloes, proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. A typewritten transcript is included. The original is in TNA.

Mathew Price of Park Pen Price alleged will,

The definitive sentence, dated 17 December 1700, declared in a cause heard at the house of the Lords Advocate of the Arches, concerning the alleged will of Mathew Price of Park Pen Price, Montgomeryshire; with typewritten transcript.

John Read of Pontrhidllan will,

Typewritten transcript of the probate, dated 22 June 1728 of the will of John Read of Pontrhidllan, Montgomeryshire, esq. The will is dated 13 Nov. 1727. The original is in TNA.

Antient British music,

A facsimile copy of BL Add. MS 14939, 'Antient British music', published in 1742, with manuscript additions, including instruction for playing the 'crwth', and a list of songs used by harpers in Wales, in the hand of Richard Morris. This copy was formerly NLW MS 14427E.

David J. Jenkins, Wisconsin, letters,

Photocopies of three letters, two from David J. Jenkins, Bangor, La Crosse Valley, Wisconsin, USA, to his brother Joseph, 28 September 1834, and to an unspecified brother, 14 June 1855; and the third from Timothy Jenkins, brother of David, at Bangor Mills, 15 February 1857, to his brother Jenkin. A note gives further details concerning David and Timothy Jenkins.
