Fifty-three files of unbound material accumulated by Bradney during the preparation of A History of Monmouthshire and containing press and proof copies, transcripts and abstracts of, and extracts from, manuscripts, deeds and documents, holograph and autograph letters, pedigrees and genealogical notes, press cuttings, etc., generally arranged under parishes. Much of the material is in the autographs of friends and official copyists. This volume contains letters, 1904-1933; and miscellaneous pedigrees and genealogical notes.

Much of the material is in the autographs of friends and official copyists. This volume contains a transcript of a perambulation of the parishes of Trevethin, Llanhilleth and Aberystruth, 1828; an agreement by the Sirhowy Tram Road Company for the construction of a carriage road from Tredegar Junction to Argoed and of a footpath through the village of Blackwood, 1858; and miscellaneous genealogical notes, press cuttings, etc.

Notes on Monmouthshire and other place names mainly in the form of replies to queries sent by Daniel Lleufer Thomas, together with letters to him on the same subject from Sir Joseph Bradney, Llywarch Reynolds, T. Wilkes of the Ordnance Survey and James G. Wood, Lincoln's Inn.

Ten letters, 1923-1926, from Joseph Alfred Bradney, Tal-y-coed, Monmouthshire, to E. I. Williams, Pontypridd (ff. 1-21); two letters, 1938-1952, from E. I. Williams to E. Silk, headmaster of Nant-y-glo Secondary School, the former listing Charity Schools, 1737-1847, in the parish of Aberystruth (ff. 23-6; and two letters, 1941-1942, concerning the loan of documents of Monmouthshire interest including some of the above (ff. 27-8).

Letters, mainly to David Williams, the correspondents including his niece, Mary Watkins, Camden Town; a draft address by the County of Monmouth to the King relating to the attack made upon him, 1795; a copy of a letter, signed 'Esculapius', addressed to the Chancellor of the Exchequer on the question of Income Tax; a draft letter to the author of A Plan of Association on Constitutional Principles for the Parishes, Tithings, Hundreds, & counties of Great Britain; and a translation of a letter from Count Algarotti to Abate Franchini, Envoy of the Grand Duke of Tuscany at Paris, 1735.

Miscellaneous papers, notes on historical, philosophical, and medical subjects, in several hands, including that of David Williams; a copy of a declaration clearing David Williams of responsibility for writing an anonymous letter, 1769; a draft statement on the policy of admitting colonies to a full participation in the rights of the mother country; notes of proceedings on the motion of an address to the King from the inhabitants of Monmouthshire, 1795; a draft letter to Thomas Pelham, Earl of Chichester; incomplete drafts of statements on the East India Company and on the copper trade, including testimony by John Vivian and Thomas Williams; a statement by Richard Ellis, Llanbeblig, miller, concerning votes for Sir Robert Williams at a Caernarvonshire election; and a memorandum of agreement for letting rooms at Lower Sloane Street to Mary Watkins, 1822.
