Affidavit of Griffith Owen of Towyn, co. Mer., gent., who deposed that he came to Nannau as a harper in 1761 and stayed there for six years, that on the death of the heiress he removed with Mr Gwynn to Taliaris, co. Carm., where he stayed six years, that in Aug. or Sept. 1773 he became harper to Henry Arthur Corbet of Ynysmaengwyn who died without male issue, that he was succeeded to the purchased estate by his only daughter; that Edward Maurice of Lloran, esq., eldest brother of H.A.C. succeeded to the estate, who assumed the name Corbet and died in 1820 leaving only two dau's, that on his death the estate devolved on Athelstan Corbet, that Pryce Maurice of Lloran, father of Edward Corbet and H.A.C. died in 1778, that the Rev. Pryce Maurice, second son of P.M. died at Towyn in 1803 leaving issue, Edward Maurice the eldest son who never married, Pryce Maurice, the second son, who died unmarried in 1819 and Athelstan Corbet (then Maurice).
