Medical recipes copied in 1812 by James Griffiths, chemist, Llandysul; hymns, etc. by James Griffiths and Francis Thomas; 'englynion'; pedigrees, etc.

Three music books bought by Isaac Williams 'of Mr. Parry, Relieving Officer, Dolgellau, Sept. 1903' and bound together into a single volume. They contain hymn-tunes, anthems and psalm-tunes, mainly by John Williams, Dolgellau, with a few tunes by R[ichard] Mills ['Rhydderch Hael'], one by I. R. Ellis, Dolgellau, 1841, and traditional and anonymous tunes; a poem entitled 'Amgylchiadau Marwolaeth Crist', an 'englyn' ('Y Farchnad Ysprydol'), 'englynion' by 'Shion Rhydderch', three hymns ('Mae'r gwaed a redodd ar y Groes', 7 stanzas, and 'Wrth edrych ar y sail', 4 stanzas, 'Ni'm diystyrir gan fy Nuw', 1 stanza), and a recipe for a cough.

A collection of poems, medical and veterinary recipes, and miscellanea entitled 'Ail Biser Sioned sef Casgliad Cadwalader Davies [Gwyddelwern] wrth ei bleser . . .', with some additions. The poems include 'carolau', 'cerddi', 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' by Hugh Morys, Dafydd Nanmor, Maredudd ap Rhys, William Wynne, John [Siôn] Cadwaladr, Jonathan Hughes, Lewis Morris ('Llywelyn Ddu'), Ellis Roberts, Rees Ellis, Roger Thomley, Ellis Cadwaladr, Matthew Owen, Edmwnd Prys, Dafydd Manuel and others. A valentine from Cadwaladr Davies to Jane Jones is dated 14 February 1749.

Miscellanea by W. J. Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') - notes on Welsh books, literary figures, the 'chart of Queen Elizabeth for holding the Caerwys Eisteddfod, 1568', 'Achau teulu Pentref y Foelas', extracts from a Welsh pedigree book by Owen Gruffydd in the possession of Owen Jones ('Meudwy Mon') (Wynnstay MS 6), a note of reservation of a right to the Glan Geirionydd Bardic Union to hold Gorsedd Meetings at the Taliesin monument in Glan Geirionydd, 1895; and a transcript of a book of medical recipes.

William of Nassyngton's Speculum Vite, here called 'liber sapientiae'; a translation of the Speculum Ecclesiae of Edmund Rich, Archbishop of Canterbury ('this is ye tretyce of Seynt Edmond of Pountenay translated out of Frenche in to Englysche'); two religious poems, one beginning 'who so kon suffre & hald hym still', and the other being on the earthquake of 1382 - 'zhit is god a curteys lord'; and medical recipes.
