A transcript of a collection of poetical meditations, prayers, psalms, and 'cywyddau', composed by Humphrey David ab Evan, sexton of Llanbryn-Mair, about 1637 to 1644; with a few 'cywyddau' by Siôn Phylip, William Phylip, and Doctor Siôn Kent, and 'englynion' by William Cynwal and Hugh Machno. The statement in David Williams: Cofiant Cynddelw, p. 684, that the greater part of the volume is in the author's own hand is incorrect.

An imperfect volume, the contents consisting of transcripts, in a hand possibly of the first half of the seventeenth century, of Welsh poems being mainly strict-metre poems in the form of 'cywyddau'. These are numbered and, if the manuscript when complete contained the whole sequence, the folios at the beginning containing poems 1-18 and most of poem 19 are now wanting. Many mid-volume and possibly some end folios are also missing. The greater part of the volume is written in a number of artificial or contrived copying hands, the scribe in some instances appearing to simulate a gothic script. The initial capitals of some of the poems have elaborate decorative detail sometimes incorporating the outlines of human figures or faces, the latter mostly grotesques. The volume has been attributed to a Glamorgan or Gwentian copyist of the first half of the seventeenth century (see TLLM, t. 44). If this dating is accepted stanzas such as those by Rhys Prichard probably have to be regarded as later insertions. There are marginal annotations in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg').

A composite volume containing miscellaneous lists, notes, jottings, etc., of a very varied nature in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg'). A fragment of a volume described as 'Llyfr Kowyddav y Masdr [Hwmffre] Huws or deirnion siryf veirionydd ...', containing autograph 'cywyddau', some of them eulogising him, by Thomas Penllyn, Rhisiart Phylip, Tuder Owen, Sion Cain, and Huw Machno (some of them being dated 1619), together with other 'cywyddau' by Sion Cent, etc.

Articles and notes, [c. 1920]-1979, in Welsh and English, mainly by Saunders Lewis, some written on the back of letters addressed to him, including an apparently unpublished article, 'Y Bomiau a Chwm Dulas' and drafts of articles on Gutun Owain and Siôn Cent, published in Meistri a'u Crefft (Caerdydd, 1981).

An imperfect manuscript consisting largely of a collection of Welsh strict-metre poems including a number of 'cywyddau' and 'awdlau', 1534-1593 and undated, by, and possibly in the hand of, Meurig Dafydd [of Llanisien, near Cardiff] (see IMCY, tt. 67-70, 108-10; and TLLM., tt. 72, 76-8), and transcripts of poems by Dafydd Bennwynn, W[i]llia]m Kynwal, Gr[uffydd] ap Ieuan Lle'nn Vychan, William Llun, Sils ap Siôn, Ieuan ap Howel Swrdwal, Davydd Goch, Tyder Alled, Sion Tydyr, Ieuan ap Huw, Deio Dyo Dy Benedeniol, Hari Prys Gwilim Goch ? Domas 'o sir Gaervyrddin', John y Kent, Howel D'd ap Ieuan ap Ris, and Rus ap Hari. Of this second group of poems some appear to be in the same hand as the poems by Meurig Dafydd and some in a different hand or hands of the same or a later period. A negative photostat facsimile of Welsh MS. 2 in the John Rylands Library, Manchester, being an incomplete early eighteenth century collection of poetry, largely in the form of 'cywyddau', by Sion Philip, Rhisiart Philip, Edmund Price [sic], William Cynwal, Evan Bry[dy]dd hir, Lewis Môn, Sion Cent, Tudyr Aled, David ap Gwillim [sic], David Nanmor [sic] and others. On p. 76 is a text of 'Brenin dlysau ynys Brydai[n]'. Later eighteenth century additions include a certificate of a declaration of an oath by Edd. Vaughan of Lanymowddy, Merioneth, 2 November, 1750, that a red heifer sold at Dinnas Mowddy and the herd from which it is taken are free from the infection now raging among horned cattle in the Kingdom.

A volume of transcripts of Welsh poetry. The first fifty-one folios contain copies, in a 16th-century hand, of 'cywyddau' by Siôn Cent, Iolo Goch, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Madog Benfras, Gruffudd Gryg, Dafyddd ab Edmwnd, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Tudur Aled, Dafydd Nanmor and others. The remainder of the volume (ff. 52-147) is in several hands of the end of the 17th century. At the head of f. 52 is the following note:- 'Haec sequens Collectio facta fuit Opera P.V.A.M. ...', the initials probably representing the name of Peter Vaughan, M.A., who was vicar of Llangernyw from 1682 to 1689. This part of the manuscript contains the names and arms of the fifteen tribes of Gwynedd; pedigrees of some Abergele families (among them that of Peter Vaughan himself) taken from the books of Sion Tudur and Rhys Cain; an account of the five residences of Sir Roger Mostyn in 1682; poetry in strict and free metres by Sion Tudur, Morus Dwyfech, Richard Phylip, Gryffydd Phylip, Guto'r Glyn, Maredudd ap Rhys, Edmwnd Prys, Lewis Glyn Cothi and others; etc.
