A parcel containing (a) A large number of receipts (in English and Latin) for chief-rents paid for lands in co. Denbigh, between the years 1613 and 1827, together with a few letters and memoranda relating thereto. (b) A copy of a writ of George III, dated April 1784, commanding John Wynne, Esq., Dorothy his wife, and John Wynne of Rhos, Esq., to appear, under penalty of £100, at the next Great Sessions for co. Denbigh, to be held at Wrexham, to answer a charge against them by William Davies and Elizabeth his wife. (c) "A particular of the estates of John Wynne, Esq., at the re-letting, Oct. 1801." The names of the tenements, of their occupiers, and of the parishes and counties in which they were situated, are listed. (d) A supplement page to the Chester Courant of 29 November, 1854, giving a detailed account of the Battle of Inkermann, with lists of casualties, etc. On the back are manuscript notes relating to officers killed and wounded. English and Latin.

Orderly Book of Major John Holland of Teyrdan, relating to the Isdulas Volunteers, commanded by Lieut-Col. Wynne of Garthewin, from 1 Aug. 1804, to 16 Aug. 1808, and to the West Denbigh Local Militia, composed of the Isdulas and Ruthin Volunteers, commanded by Lieut-Col. Forbes of Bodnod, from 1 Sept. 1808, to 27 Aug., 1812. The MS., written in a very find hand, with copperplate title-pages and headings, the work of P. Williams, Ruthin, consists of general and regimental orders, copies of letters, and records of courts-martial, promotions, etc. Quarto, bound in vellum.

Contains dates of birth and death, titles and offices held etc. Royal blue silk backing. Encased in a brown cylindrical tin.
