The 2014 Donation

The 2014 Donation mainly consists of the personal papers of the Revd Alwyn Thomas, who was the Secretary of Undeb Dirwest Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Temperance Union and the Secretary of Undeb Dirwestol Eglwysi Cristionogol Cymru / Temperance Council of Christian Churches of Wales. Included are correspondence; addresses and statements delivered by him; printed material; annual reports of Undeb Dirwest Gogledd Cymru; two scrapbooks relating to the temperance movement and activities; posters; and papers relating to the 1975 Campaign.

Transcripts of Clive letter books, abstracts, and draft biography of Clive

The unit comprises transcripts, [c.1824]-[c.1828], of Clive of India's original letter books (now NLW, Clive of India Papers CR1-CR6); of some of Clive's letter books now no longer extant; and of other Clive papers made by or on behalf of Sir John Malcolm preparatory to his biography of Clive, together with drafts of the biography.

This group, consisting principally of newspaper cuttings, correspondence and papers, had been arranged prior to its arrival at the Library. This arrangement has not been substantially altered, even though it does not always maintain a strict chronological order. Class I2 includes some similar material.

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate and Member of Parliament,

Material relating to adoption as a candidate and fighting elections between 1961 and 1997 in Newport, Norwood and Leominster and Epping where Peter Temple-Morris was adopted as a candidate but did not fight and election. This material includes including letters, press cuttings, election addresses and material related to the attempt to de-select him as Conservative candidate for Leominster in 1990.
