The file comprises typescript, manuscript and printed copies of poems by various authors (in many cases the author's name is not noted). Includes a typescript copy of a poem by Peter Levi entitled 'Thirty ways of drowning in the sea', with a letter from Alasdair Clayre at All Souls College, Oxford, dated 17 Sept. 1965, asking David Jones whether he would like 'a drawing or two drawings of yours to be used as illustrations for a limited edition of this poem?' (for drafts of a reply to this letter see A2/1), and typescript copies of poems by Charles Madge ('The Storming of the Brain', dated 2 July 1950), Dylan Thomas ('Elegy'), Saunders Lewis ('The Choice', translated by R. The file comprises scripts of three broadcasts concerning David Jones and his work: a review of an exhibition of his paintings in Edinburgh, 21 November 1954; a review of The Anathemata, 19 December 1952; and a talks feature entitled 'David Jones', compiled and introduced by Goronwy Rees and with contributions by T. S. Eliot, Saunders Lewis, Nicolette Gray and Gwyn Williams, 29 Oct. 1954, produced by Aneirin Talfan (two copies of the script, one corrected by David Jones).

Notebook of Berta Ruck, January-June 1937, containing diary entries, ideas for fiction, comments on the progress of her writing, and pasted-in letters and cards to her, together with her typescript account of attending the trial at the Old Bailey of Saunders Lewis, Lewis Valentine and D. J. Williams, sketches of the defendants and related press cuttings and correspondence. Also pasted in are press cuttings relating to other contemporary events, including the coronation of George VI and the marriage of Edward, duke of Windsor.

A note, 1926, in the hand of A[rthur] Foulkes-Roberts, highly critical of Saunders Lewis, pasted on a printed review by the latter of Cywyddau Iolo Goch ac Eraill, ed. by Henry Lewis, et al. (1925), which appeared in Y Llenor, October 1926.

A scrapbook of material relating to William Thomas ('Islwyn'), including press cuttings, etc., in connection with negotiations for the purchase and restoration of his birthplace at Tŷ'r Agent, Ynys-ddu, 1925-1926, and press cuttings, correspondence (addressed to A. W. Games, Cwmfelin-fach), printed matter, photographs, labels attached to relics and personalia, and a balance sheet, in connection with centenary celebration meetings held in 1932 at Cwmfelin-fach and Ynys-ddu. The correspondents include Timothy Rees, bishop of Llandaff, Joseph Bradney, Saunders Lewis, Ifan ab Owen Edwards and John Kyrle Fletcher.

The file comprises manuscript drafts of prose writings. Many of these drafts appear to be of letters from David Jones to private correspondents. Amongst the subjects discussed are various matters of Welsh interest (ff. 2-15, with two drafts concerning Saunders Lewis), and the relationship between the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Mass and between the nature of the Mass and the nature of art. There is one draft of what appears to be the end of a letter to Petra Tegetmeier (née Gill).

The file comprises miscellaneous manuscript notes and drafts by David Jones, including a poem entitled 'Isys' dated 12 September 1956 (f. 2) and a poem entitled 'The Heart of Time' (f. 3), a complete letter to Sister Ursula, 1967 (f. 21), and to Saunders Lewis, 1967 (f. 22). There is also a proof copy of a poem by René Hague (f. 5).
