The matters discussed include the aims of the League, its policies and campaigns, the Celtic countries and cultures, linguistic minorities, political movements and ideas, and the compilation, publication and distribution of Carn. There are also articles submitted for Carn, together with notes, as well as letters and petitions to governments and international bodies. In addition, there are copies, drafts and notes of letters written by Heusaff and Moffatt, and letters and other documents forwarded by branch secretaries relating to matters of particular concern.

The series comprises the correspondence, 1983-1999, of the movement relating mainly to humanitarian issues such as the 'disappearance' of prisoners and includes letters from politicians.

Fitzwilliams at Johannesburg relating to a kaross [a South African mantle or sleeveless jacket made of the skins of animals with the hair on], 1901; an ode (Welsh) written by G. Jones to Captain E. C. Lloyd Fitzwilliams of Cilgwyn on his return 'from the seat of war', 1902; typescript copies of two letters in the form of diaries from Duncan C. L. Fitzwilliams, a Red Cross surgeon in Romania, to his wife, 19 Nov.-6 Dec. 1916; and genealogical papers.

The series comprises letters, 1964-2001, addressed to Lord Cledwyn of Penrhos, sometimes interspersed with copies of his replies. The correspondence is strongly political, much concerning his work within the House of Lords. A number refer to requests for political honours. Some of the letters refer to events in Anglesey, some from his former constituents, including invitations to attend numerous events. Some letters discuss the affairs of the University of Wales which Lord Cledwyn served as Pro-Chancellor. There are also a number of letters from the media, including requests for contributions to radio and television broadcasts and interviews. Some letters are requests from academics and students for assistance with their research projects.

The series comprises letters, 1934-1946, from Jennifer, mainly to her family, giving personal and domestic news and describing her experiences and activities at Headington School, Oxford, and Penrhos College, Bakewell, Derbyshire.

The group comprises letters written by members of the Griffith family of Garn, mainly the family of John Wynne Griffith, and close relatives, 1724, 1783-1876, with many details of family life, social activities, travel abroad, the children's school and university days, the progression of John Wynne Griffith's sons in their careers and assistance to their father in managing the estate, and acquaintance with other well-known families in north-east Wales, such as Clough, Kirkwall, Shipley, Jones of Llysmeirchion and Wynne of Plasnewydd, and letters from other correspondents addressed to various members of the Griffith family, 1733-1943, on many different subjects, the most frequently recurrent being estate business, particularly disputes over enclosures and encroachments, rights on crown lands, purchase of property and questions of title, legal and financial complications of the Plasnewydd estate trust, Denbigh borough and parliamentary elections, contemporary national and local events during the Napoleonic Wars, and public duties of individuals.

The group comprises mainly letters written to members of the families related by marriage to Griffith of Garn, such as Hughes of Gwydir, Llwyn Gronw, Cae'r berllan and Weeg, 1713-1823, Roberts of Bryn y neuadd, 1705-1757, and Wynne of Garthmeilio and Plasnewydd, 1793-1831, together with miscellaneous recipients, 1680-1882, mainly on Caernarfonshire and Denbighshire parliamentary elections, church matters, inheritance, debt and domestic affairs.

The group comprises letters between HFJ and his family, 1893-1957, and a large group of letters from his many contacts in Welsh cultural and political life, 1894-1957.

The series comprises correspondence between HFJ and Ann Ellen Williams, 1899-1933; correspondence relating to Ann's career, 1893-1899, and letters of sympathy to her following the death of her husband, 1949-1950.
