Griffith John's journal

It opens with a brief sketch of his past history, 5 June 1855, and includes copies of correspondence with the London Missionary Society, cuttings from The North China Herald, and letters. The last entry is dated 20 June 1870.

Address in English and Welsh from the workers and visitors to the Great Missionary Exhibition held at Wrexham congratulating Griffith John on the jublilee of his work as a missionary in China.

Doctor of Divinity award

Diploma, 1889, granting the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity of the University of Edinburgh to Griffith John, together with a certificate and related correspondence; an account of his jubilee, 1905; correspondence, 1911-1912, relating to the Degree of Doctor in Divinate awarded to him by the University of Cardiff in recognition of his services to China, especially in the translation of the Scriptures into Chinese; report of the Griffith John College, Hankow, 1913; and proofs of an account of his memorial service at Kuling, [1912].

Commemorative garden

A leaflet commemorating the centenary of the birth of Grifith John; correspondence, etc., 1961-1965, between Reverend G. J. Sparham, M.B.E., and G. Brynmor Sparham, grandsons of Griffith John, and the donor, touching the opening of a garden at Swansea in his memory, 1963, and a programme for the ceremony, 23 November 1963.
