Poetry,

A manuscript containing Welsh poetry, including the work of Edmwnd Prys, Sion Brwynog, Guto'r Glyn, Sion Phylip, Sion Tudur, Taliesin, Iolo Goch and others. Pp. 7-58, 61-66, 171-210 are in the hand of Roger Williams, assistant to Bishop William Morgan (1545-1604); pp. 131-137 are in the hand of Dr John David Rhys; and pp. 67-112, 139-152 are in the hand of John Powel of Talgarth, Breconshire (see pp. 67, 139; see also Peniarth MSS 27 and 45). P. 58 contains a note, 1611, in the hand of Roger Williams concerning 'the fees that goeth vpon any person in suinge owt his lyveryes', and on p. 61 is a note, 1617, in the same hand concerning the 'benefactors of the Cathedrall church of Landaphe'. Also included in the manuscript is a sermon 'in praise of theves' (p. 197), triads (pp. 200-201) and medical and veterinary recipes (pp. 199, 210b).

Theological tracts, &c.

A manuscript containing theological tracts (pp. 408-435), Yspryt Guido Ar Prior (pp. 436-471), Kerdwriaeth Kerd Davawd and Trioed Kerd (pp. 472-504).
The first folio is rubbed, stained and mostly illegible. The text of pp. 408-421, l.8 is practically identical with that published in Llyvyr Agkyr Llanwivrevi (Oxford, 1894), pp. 141-51, l. 3, but wanting the text on p. 144, l. 21 to p. 148, l. 26. The ending of Trioed Kerd is illegible. This manuscript is a continuation of 'Didrefn Gasgliad' Vols I & II.

Triads,

A manuscript divided into three parts containing triads collected by Moses Williams, with Prefaces, etc., prepared for publication. At the beginning of the volume are notes, including directions to the printer, a list of subscribers [1717], etc. There then follows the first part of the manuscript (paginated 1-98) containing a collection of the 'historical' triads, with variant readings from 'B.B. of Carm., R.B. of Hergest, Cwtta Cyfarwydd, Rich: Wynne of Gwydr's MS., Dr. Foulkes's Book', together with two version of transcripts by Moses Williams ready for the printer, with a preface in Latin. The second part of the manuscript (paginated 1-112) contains 'moral' and other triadic sayings. The third part of the manuscript (paginated 1-74) contains 'proverbial triads', followed by a translation into Latin.
The contents of parts two and three of the volume are to be found in the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales.
