A comical retelling of the fairy-tale. Princess rosebud is cursed as an infant by Fairy Grizzlegrump. On her 18th birthday, she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. The Fairy Queen changes the curse and instead of dying she will sleep for 100 instead.

The kingdom has no money and is on the brink of war. Princess Lovlier suggests a Sleeping Beauty spell to put the kingdom to sleep for 1000 years to sleep through their troubles. She provokes the Wicked Spiteful Fairy to curse the kingdom. However there is a twist, and the kingdom sleeps alternative hours for 2000 years.

When the Willow Pattern Plate is broken, Willow Pattern land comes alive. Fearing the wrath of her father, Emperor Kwang-Lo, Princess Silver Lily escapes with Chang Sue. The pair meet the witch, Lo San, who curses them thus turning them into a pair of blue birds. Forced to fly over the sea, they find themselves on the Arabella, where they are cared for by Seth, the English sailor.

Miss Gretchen Germany, Miss Sadie America, Master Michenka Russia, Miss Flourrette France and Master Sandro Spain. They discuss their histories, their differences and how they celebrate holidays. The countries invite John to visit them. John suggests they play soldiers, and soon regrets as the countries pick sides.

One night, young siblings David and Eira convice Julius go searching for the treasure. They see a mysterious figure who disappears. The group finds the cave, and conclude there is a secret passage.
