Sermon notes,

A volume of sermons and sermon notes. Some of these were delivered at Preston, Kingswood, and Lapw[orth] between 1662 and 1665. A note in pencil on the fly-leaf states that the volume is in the autograph of the Reverend Matthew Henry. Howeer, a short description of the volume by 'D.R.T.' in the form of a newspaper cutting pasted on the inside of the front cover states that, in view of the dates of some of the sermons, the volume must be in the autograph, not of Matthew, but of his father, Philip Henry, the eminent Nonconformist divine. Paper; 502 pp., unnumbered; 163 x 118; full calf, damaged at the spine, and with remnants of two clasps.

Schedules of state accounts,

A composite volume consisting of: (1) a schedule of books, accounts, and papers delivered by Geo. Toilet, secretary to the late Commissioners of Accounts, to Paul Jodrell, esq., clerk to the House of Commons,15 April 1697, together with a memorandum. Of their delivery and also an acknowledgement of the receipt of other books on 1 December 1697. These accounts embrace the period 1606-1697 and are classified and arranged in alphabetical order. (2) A similarly arranged schedule of accounts embracing the. Period 1685-1704. On the outside front cover is the inscription: 'A Copy of the Books and Papers Delivered by Gregry King Esq. Secretary to the Com[m]issLion]ers of Accounts for the years 1702 and 1703. To Paul Joddrel Esq. Clark to the Hon House of Commons'.On the fly-leaf is the inscription: 'MSS. Carew'. A volume containing lists of commissions granted by the Crown during the period 1485-1661. Paper; pp. 1-125; 334 x 212; full parchment.

Royal charters and grants,

Classified lists of Royal charters and grants 1660-1668. These consist of 'Promiscuous Grants to severall persons which are not reduced to distinct Heads'; grants for imparking and disparking and for free warren, and warrants for game-keepers; charters granted or renewed to companies and incorporated bodies; denizations granted to foreigners; licences for exercising shows, games, and lotteries, for erecting playhouses, and to mountebanks; grants for the alteration of surnames; grants for erecting and maintaining lighthouses; suspensions of persons from their offices and revocations of their grants; patents of inventions; grants to clergy and for the union of churches; grants to colleges, schools, and hospitals; licences for the enclosure and alteration of highways and footways; and warrants to the Duke of York, Lord High Admiral, for the sale of old shipping. Rights of parliamentary electors,

Volume entitled 'Right of Electors Determined By the house to 15 May 1730'. It consists of resolutions, 1604-1729, defining the right of election for various constituencies in England, Wales and Scotland. Among the constituencies represented are Beaumaris, Cardigan, Carmarthen, town, Flint town, Monmouth, Montgomery and New Radnor. 8 unnumbered pages at the end contain an index to the volume. The volume was formerly Phillipps MS 24612. Paper; 12 unnumbered pp; 210 pp.; 200x148; full mottled calf with gilt tooling.
