Pand-ṇāmah

The Pand-ṇāmah, or Book of Counsels, a much disputed didactic poem ascribed to Saʻdī, which is however not found in the usual copies of the Kullīyāt.

Life and letters of Benjamin Millingchamp

Two volumes containing the manuscript, dated 7 April 1940 (f. iv), of the 'Life and Letters of the Ven[era]ble Benjamin Millingchamp, D.D'. by Herbert Millingchamp Vaughan.
The work contains transcripts of part of a journal of Benjamin Millingchamp, family correspondence and other papers (many of which are now in NLW MSS 13933-5), as well as biographical notes supplied by the author. Parts of this work were previously published in the author's articles 'A naval chaplain of the eighteenth century', United Service Magazine (January 1903), 348-376, and 'An Indian chaplain of the eighteenth century', East and West (Bombay) (1901), 289-298.

A volume containing letters and papers, 1778-1829, relating to Benjamin Millingchamp, including family and other correspondence. The documents include his admission to holy orders and other clerical appointments, 1778-1827 (ff. i-vi, 1), correspondence with the Admiralty Office, 1778 (ff. 2-5 verso), and a certificate of his proficiency in Persian, 1796 (f. 113).

A copy of the collected works of Saʻdī of Shiraz (Musharrif ud-Dīn b. Muṣliḥ ud-Dīn; c. 1200-c. 1292) in prose and verse, including Gulistān (ff. 32 verso-97) and Bustān (ff. 97 verso-220).
